Pokemon GO Hoenn Throwback Challenge 2020 Guide: How to Get Groudon

Niantic's Pokemon GO has been offering weekly tasks as part of their Throwback Challenge 2020 event, and this time, players can finally have the chance to capture a Groudon if they complete all missions for this week.

After Kanto and Johto, Hoenn will be featured in this week's Throwback Challenge, which means Pokemon found in the Hoenn region will be spawning more frequently and hatching from seven-kilometer eggs that you acquire from this period, according to Polygon.

Additionally, Rayquaza and Pikachu hats will be spawning more this week, starting from May 15 to 22.

What's more, Pokemon GO players can finally have the chance to capture a Shiny Skitty for the first time as it will be debuting during this event.

Perhaps what fans are waiting for is capturing Groudon with the move Fire Punch, along with a variety of rewards like Berries, Incense, and even rare Pokemon encounters such as Shedinja.

How to Finish All This Week's Challenges

But before getting any of these, you need to complete all the tasks related to this week's Pokemon GO Hoenn Throwback Challenge 2020.

The steps are as follows--the rewards for finishing each task and each set of missions:

Step 1

Catch three fire-, grass-, or water-type Pokemon (10 Poke Balls)
5 Rare Candy
Catch one rock-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards for these tasks: 2 Razz Berries, 1 Pinap Berry, Nosepass encounter

Step 2

Power up a Pokemon (5 Pinap Berries)
Make three Nice Throws (Lairon encounter)
Catch one fire-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards: 2 Pinap Berry, 1 Razz Berry, Hariyama encounter

Step 3

Send a gift to a friend (1 Incense)
Make three Curveball Throws (Wailmer encounter)
Catch one electric-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards: 2 Razz Berries, 1 Pinap Berry, Manectric encounter

Step 4

Earn a candy while walking with your Buddy (Trapinch encounter)
Catch three Pokemon with weather boost (Bagon encounter)
Catch one fire-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards: 2 Pinap Berries, 1 Razz Berry, Camerupt encounter

Step 5

Make three Great Throws (Shedinja encounter)
Power up a Pokemon three times (10 Great Balls)
Catch a normal-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards: 2 Razz Berries, 1 Pinap Berry, Slakoth encounter

Step 6

Catch one electric-, bug-, or water-type Pokemon (10 Ultra Balls)
Battle another trainer (Absol encounter)
Catch one flying-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Rewards: 2 Pinap Berries, 1 Razz Berry, Swellow encounter

Step 7

Catch one ghost-type Pokemon (5 Revives)
Give your Buddy 3 treats (1 Charged TM)
Catch one psychic-type Pokemon (500 Stardust)

Step 8

Take a snapshot of a water-type Pokemon (Clamperl encounter)
Evolve one Pokemon (1 Star Piece)

There will be five weeks of Pokemon GO Throwback Challenges, and any player who finished all five weeks' worth of tasks, including that of Kanto and Johto, will be rewarded with a Genesect.
