Before the announcement released on Tuesday, May 26, Spotify capped your personal library in Spotify to only 10,000 songs. However, with this new update, it seems that the streaming service has finally given way to unlimited music that you can store and collect in the popular music streaming service.
Gone are the days when you should be careful with choosing the music you want to store because of the music cap; instead, add to your heart's content. Or as long as you have space for the music that you are planning to collect, after all, your music selection defines you as an individual, so you better choose right.
The company points out that users have requested this feature since 2014, and it is still unclear as to why they decided to implement the change now. Regardless, this is a big win for all music lovers out there to expand their favorite genres to the ones they want to try out and listen to.
You will no longer be worried about the message Spotify issues to their subscribers, saying, "Epic collection, my friend. There's no more room in Your Library. To save more, you'll need to remove some songs or albums." Now it's an unlimited collection. However, there are still limits in place and continue to read on to know more about it.

Spotify is planning to roll out the feature in batches, so it's not automatic that everyone will get it right off the bat. Still, eventually, all users will be able to enjoy unlimited music, anytime, anywhere.
Despite the unlimited music you can collect, there is still a limit. On one playlist, your Spotify account is limited to only 10,000 songs over 615 hours of music. On top of that, you're still capped at 10,000 song download limit across five devices if ever you want to bring your playlist for offline listening. The new unlimited library comes just after Spotify has announced that they would be testing Group Sessions. This feature would let you and other people control the same playlist the same as TouchTunes, the jukebox app. Spotify also added a themed, curated playlist in topics regarding true crime and other content.
Spotify was able to garner 124 million subscribers at the end of 2019, which keeps the streaming service way above competitors such as Apple Music. Spotify has also been pushing towards podcasts, and it seems like it's still comfortable in the top position as the number one place for podcasts.This couldn't come at a better time given that the whole world is still under lock and key due to the pandemic, this is the best time to listen to all the music you'd ever want to listen to, and no one would object to how you choose to spend your time during the quarantine-feels.
