Most of the world's non-essential businesses have closed. And, many of the world's national and private healthcare systems are overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of infected cases. Medical professionals in countries like Italy had to start deciding who they were going to attempt to save and who they were going to let die. There were not enough ICU beds and treatment options to attempt to save everyone.

The good news is that many countries like the UK, Spain, Italy, China, and Germany seem to be past their peak infection rate and their governments are cautiously restarting their respective economies and allowing people to go back to work and children back to school. In other words, these countries are starting to navigate the new normal.

Many of the world's leaders like Boris Johnson believe that researchers and scientists might never find a vaccine for this virus. Thus, it is essential to navigating the post-COVID-19 world in such a way that a second COVID-19 wave is prevented. Thus, the movement and large gatherings of people are going to be severely restricted for the foreseeable future. 

Therefore, the question that all business owners and managers are going to have to grapple with is how to pivot their business operations to an online, remote working world while allowing the majority of their staff to work from home. 

It is worth noting that the sales departments where sales consultants usually travel to their customers' locations are going to have to change their modus operandi. And, employee meetings, especially in the sales department, are going to have to move online.
