Acer Aspire E15

Best Overall

You do have it all with the Acer Aspire E15. This model provides some of the best features on the market, at a fair price, with strong output and a long-lasting battery. It has an Intel Core i3-8130U 8th generation processor, and Intel Turbo Boost high-speed, 6 GB dual-channel memory, and a 1 TB hard drive. The monitor has full HD resolution, although the brightness is very poor. The E 15 is designed for work and efficiency, which is evident from its utilitarian, no-nonsense design. There's a good amount of port space on the sides for USB 3.0, 2.0, Type-C, Ethernet, HDMI, an SD card slot, and a DVD burner. It's a great value in general, particularly for working professionals.

Acer Chromebook R 11 Convertible

Best 2-in-1

The R11 Convertible Acer Chromebook is one of the most influential models on the market. It can be used in four modes: Notebook, Monitor, Tent, and Ipad. It is fitted with an 11.6-inch, 1.366 x 768-pixel touchscreen display and a 360-degree hinge that folds back to a tablet. It also has a pretty decent battery life for its size, which will last about 10 hours. The basic model is fitted with an Intel N2840 processor, 2 GB RAM, and 16 GB storage. You can jump to an N3150 processor and get more memory and storage, but that will cost you. However, no matter how you configure it, you will have an extremely versatile and inexpensive computer.

Acer Chromebook 15 CB3-532

Best Budget

Technology continues to make tremendous strides, but it still seems that our devices are getting pricier and more pricer. And our mind blows that you can get as fine a laptop like the Acer Chromebook 15 for less than $160. Although the style is nothing to write about at home, the LED-backlit 15.6-inch screen looks spacious compared with other Chromebooks. That does not mean it's as compact as its 11-inch and 13-inch predecessors, of course, but it's still small and lightweight enough to bring around in one hand.

Inside, it houses a 1.6GHz Intel Celeron N3060 (with Intel HD Graphics 400 integrated) and 2 GB RAM, which is more than sufficient for your daily surfing and word processing. Perhaps most impressively, Acer says that the battery can last up to 12 hours, but several tests have shown that it can stay on for several hours.

Acer Spin 5

Best for students

The Acer Spin 5 is an A+ choice for students, whether you are dashing off to class or hunkering down in the library for a marathon study session. The computer is designed solidly and features a well laid-out keyboard and trackpad with backlight. Its hinge rotates 360 degrees to fold back into the tent and tablet mode, making it perfect for going straight from study to stream. Inside, it has a powerful Intel Core i5-7200U 7th generation 2.5GHz processor with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.1GHz (3 MB L3 cache). The 13-inch Full HD monitor (1920 x 1080) runs a bit dim, so you should generally stop using it out on the quad, but it's just perfect for classroom use. The Acer Spin 5 is surprisingly affordable and best yet if you're on a student budget.

Acer Predator 17

Best for Gaming

Gaming laptops are different beasts altogether. Generally, they are bulkier, they offer more electricity, and they cost a pretty penny more. And with a weight of 1.56 x 16.65 x 12.66 inches ( HWD) and almost 10 pounds, the Acer Predator 17 definitely does not dissipate any of those notions. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-7700HQ 7th generation processor and sports a 17.3-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080.
