Lenovo is set to unveil its newest gaming phone called Legion. The latest handset comes with 16GB of RAM. For gamers, it means improving the gaming experience. 

CNET reported that Lenovo confirmed that it will introduce the latest gaming phone on July 22. However, according to Techradar, Lenovo plans to release Legion gaming phone on July 22 in China, and there are no updates about further details of its launch for other markets.

The Legion phone will be one of the first devices, together with Asus ROG Phone 3, to use the latest Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset; Asus ROG Phone 3 will also be launched on the same day with Legion. The Snapdragon 865 Plus will have a 10% faster rendering and CPU lock speed than the previous Snapdragon 865; the chipset is usually integrated into many top-end phones this year.

Lenovo Legion phone features

It will be combined with Adreno 650 GPU and will have its prime core clocked at 3.09GHz, four silver cores clocking at 1.8GHz, and three gold cores at 2.42GHz; boasting faster GPU, CPU, and WiFi speeds, making it slightly quicker at loading apps and games compared to the standard Snapdragon 865. 512GB UFS 3.1 storage configurations and 16GB LPDDR5 RAM is also expected from the Lenovo Legion phone. If the claims are correct, the Legion gaming phone will be one of the first gaming devices to have 16GB of RAM.

Additional features are expected, including a 64MP quad rear camera, a 45W fast charging speed, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Legion phone will house an unusual side pop-up camera that activates from the right side of the device's frame instead of the top side, as suggested by previous leaks.

Not only that, but the report also suggested that dual front-firing speakers, dual heat pipes and cooling tower for proper temperature maintenance, should also be expected.

Things you need to know about Qualcomm's Snapdragon 865 Plus

To make gaming even more immersive, Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon processor is getting a speed bump that will increase its performance. The new Snapdragon 865 plus will be working with the company's FastConnect 6900 technology, enabling 3.6Gbps WiFi download speeds.

Snapdragon 865 Plus will take advantage of WiFi 6E, a new category of connectivity that taps into 6 GHz spectrum. Qualcomm boasts that the new Snapdragon processor is insanely-fast, less congested, and "shockingly smooth." Even in crowded spaces where lots of devices are connected at once, ultra-responsive devices will be enabled. It also taps into 5G networks, just like Snapdragon 865. An x55 modem that's capable of up to 7.5 Gbps download speeds will be paired with Qualcomm's latest processor.
