Amazon has built up their empire from offering products on its website to creating various devices and gadgets for their followers, including the Amazon Fire tablets, starting from the entry-level tablet available for only $50 to the Fire HD 10 tablet $230.

If you don't have an Amazon Fire tablet yet, you can start with the Amazon Fire 7 tablet with a 7-inch screen and a variety of 16GB or 32GB.

All of the Amazon Fire tablets you can buy from the retailer runs on Amazon's own Fire OS, which is based on Android, which is why it's not surprising to know that not many people know the ins and outs of Amazon Fire tablets.

With that, here are 11 Fire tablet tips and tricks you should try:

Name your device

Naming your device makes it easier to connect various devices to your tablet or when you have multiple devices logged in on your Amazon account. It's also quite easy to change your tablet's name, so why not do it?

To change your device's name, simply pull down the notification shade of your device and then tap on Settings > Device Options > Change Your Device Name.

Manage your notifications

If you don't want to see notifications from certain apps, and you only want to be notified of important messages, you can manage all of them via your tablet's settings.

Go to Settings > Sound & Notification > App Notifications and then choose the apps that send you too many annoying notifications and block them. You can also prioritize notifications from certain apps by tapping the Priority toggle on. Once you do that, the notifications from that app will always appear on top.

Filter blue light

Blue light can keep you up at night, and it can be quite uncomfortable to the eyes, especially at night. To avoid eye strain and staying up all night, Amazon Fire tablets have a feature known as Blue Shade, which filters the blue light on your device.

Just swipe down from the top and then tap on the Blue Shade icon. A notification will pop up, saying it's now on. You can then adjust the color of the screen based on your preference.

You can also set it up automatically via Automatic Activation, which will turn the feature on and off at certain times of the day.

How to take a screenshot

You can take a screenshot by pushing the Power button and the Volume Down button simultaneously. You can then find your screenshot in your device's Photos app.

How to free up storage

Sometime in the future, you'll end up running low on storage, especially if you like taking tons of photos and videos and installing various apps.

If you find yourself in this situation, you can free up some storage by tapping on the Internal Storage from the Settings app. You can then delete files from your Internal Storage to free some space.

You can also offload some files you haven't been using much through the 1-Tap Archive option. Tap the View Content option to check which files you can put on 'archive' and then choose Archive Now to upload them on cloud storage automatically. If you need them back, you can download the files you need quickly.

Create individual profiles

You can easily create individual profiles on your Amazon Fire tablet, and it's actually helpful if you're sharing the device with your family. Plus, you can create all these profiles with a single Amazon account.

To do this, go to Settings > Profiles & Family Library. You can set up two profiles for adults and up to four individual profiles for young users. If you need an extra adult profile, you'll require another Amazon account, but you can still share content and personalize what you can see when you log in on your tablet.

Managing a child's profile

You can get the Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids Edition tablet to ensure the content that your child can access, but you can still create a child's profile on your device, which helps you filter the content they can access.

To create a child's profile, go to Settings > Profiles & Family Library > Add a Child Profile, and fill it.

Once you've created a child's profile, you can now set daily limits and handpick your child's content. Amazon has also included smart web filters that allow you to check what content they have accessed or attempted to access.
