The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) provided the lists of hand sanitizers that people should avoid since they don't have a high enough alcohol level to protect you from the novel coronavirus. Lists of Hand Sanitizers That Will Not Protect You From COVID-19: Here's a Warning From FDA

According to the latest report of CNET, FDA has released a list of products that may not have the ability to effectively kill different kinds of germs, after they tested various brands of hand sanitizers to be used during the ongoing pandemic caused by COVID-19.

Instead of finding poisonous ingredients in hand sanitizers such as methanol, which can be absorbed through the skin, the FDA was able to identify some products that have a troubling low concentration of alcohol. FDA warned the public that the seven hand sanitizer brands included in the list have "concerningly low levels of ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol."

"The agency urges consumers not to use these subpotent products and has expanded its list to include subpotent hand sanitizers, in addition to hand sanitizers that are or may be contaminated with methanol," said the health agency.
