Are you embarrassed that your employer might see your old posts on social media? You can easily clean your Facebook and Twitter accounts without deleting them entirely. Many people want to avoid a social media trail because they think their new boss or employer will not like their old posts.

Deleting your accounts and create new ones might be the easiest way to resolve this issue. However, there is still a way you can clean your accounts without deleting them. Gizmodo's latest report explained that social media platforms should not have a permanent, fixed record of old posts. Here's how to remove your past posts from last year, five years ago, and even 10 years ago.

Facebook

You might want to save everything you've ever committed on the social media platform. You can do this by navigating to the "Facebook information" option and then going to the "Download your information" option. Facebook has a bulk deletion tool that will help you quickly delete your old posts.

First, you need to go to your profile and then select the "Manage Posts" option, which will direct you to the screen display with options for both of your posts and tagged posts. There's also the "Filters" button that will allow you to narrow down your posts. You can now hide your friends' posts that you're tagged in and delete the embarrassing posts you've made.

Twitter

"Tweet Deleter" will give you more control over the tweets you want to delete instead of manually. This software will allow you to find particular types of posts or search through specific date ranges. However, if you're not paying for its service, it will only allow you to delete five tweets a day. You also need to consider that Twitter limits third-party app access to your most recent 3,200 tweets before you pay for the app.
