Money glitch became popular because it allows players to acquire a huge amount of money very quickly and other expensive things in the game, such as luxury cars. Unlike the previous bugs, many users participated, including other streamers and game vloggers.
However, those players will be punished by the GTA's game publisher by resetting their accounts and even deleting their entire characters. An insider Tez2 and a Rockstar Games reporter confirmed that the punishment is legit since many players who utilized the glitch have been receiving notifications, stating that their accounts will be deleted depending on how often they participated in glitches.

Some players only lost money from their accounts, while others lost their entire progress and character. Although Rockstar Games' punishment may seem harsh, it is really not new. Players should have been aware of the consequences since the publisher has been handling players that exploit glitches ever since GTA 5 came out.

There's still a chance that you might retrieve your deleted account. Under the name of "THE GAME REVIEWS," a YouTuber confirmed that his statement was returned after he contacted Rockstar Games' local support. He also said that the customer service was very responsive and helpful.
The YouTuber got back all his GTA money, vehicles, and properties back in less than 24 hours.
"We are aware of this issue and are working on a resolution. We do apologize for the inconvenience and will respond back with an update when available," said the Rockstar support staff.
