The famous electric vehicle manufacturer and clean energy company, Tesla, is hiding a brilliant new addition to its EVs that surely boosts added performance and power to its car lineup. This is revealed none other by its CEO, Elon Musk, on Twitter. The CEO then again hints a new move by Tesla and its quest to provide the world's available and reliable electric vehicles that packs a punch.

Tesla previously announced several ventures into creating its power cells that will be carried on Gigafactories to become self-sufficient, and control the quality, build, and specifications of the vehicle capacities. Recently, news surfaced that Tesla would postpone its 'million-range' high-volume battery production to give way to a pilot production line.

Since then, Tesla is silent on its power cell production even after the events of September 22's Battery Day that concluded almost a week ago. Several fans and enthusiasts of the company were left in dismay after the famed Tesla event did not include the company's announced battery ventures.

However, recent news reveals new Tesla 4680 Battery prototypes were used in the company's electric vehicle lineup without anyone knowing. According to Teslarati, 4680 Roadrunner batteries already power the manufacturer's EVs as part of testing and innovations.

This news was confirmed and clarified by none other than Tesla's eccentric CEO, Elon Musk, when answering queries about its products and its venture in power cells. Tesla's 4680 suggests the company's self-supporting ventures that will come shortly, making its very own exclusive power packs.

Elon Musk: 4680 Batteries Have Been in Cars for Months

Despite Tesla's failure to give the world its promise of a 'million-range' battery, the company is compensating with several innovations and ventures up its sleeves. Twitter's Whole Mars Catalog (@WholeMarsBlog) recently speculated on Tesla's 4680 batteries kept on the low by the company.

Whole Mars Catalog's question picked on the 4680 cells asking whether it was made with three different cathodes. The Twitter account also asked the CEO whether it talked about the company or its suppliers when Elon Musk spoke about it in the recent past.

Elon Musk (@elonmusk), known to answer queries and engage on everything Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and even memes on Twitter, directly responded to the question. Elon Musk clarified that it was left to its supplier's hands, but the company has created 'high-nickel' batteries integrated into battery packs inside the vehicle. These battery packs are part of several Tesla electric vehicles for some time now, and according to Musk, it is indeed there for months now.

Tesla's Battery Components: How it Powers Model S, Cybertruck, and Semi

Tesla 4680 batteries are high-nickel-based cells that are part of the electric vehicle lines that were released by the company for some time now. According to the hierarchy, 'Iron Based' vehicles characterizes long battery life, 'Nickel + Manganese' gives long-range qualities, and 'High Nickel' batteries are for heavy or 'mass sensitive' vehicles.

Teslarati speculates that Tesla's 4680 are part of the recently released Model S Plaid, announced on Battery Day. The battery cells explain the whopping speed and performance the 'Plaid' brings to the public, with a 1,100 horsepower from its tri-motor and a less than 2-second 0 to 60 mph.

Battery Day's presentation highly tied Tesla's Cybertruck and Semi with the high-nickel power cells for its intended use of massive cargo-haul.
