PS5 only costs $399 for its Digital Edition and $499 for PlayStation 5 with Ultra HD Blu-Ray Disc Drive. Currys' high price for the console is a technical fix that will help people who pre-ordered the console when they opened in September.

According to the Independent UK's latest article, Currys' website showcases PS5's too high price, together with other consoles that cost around $580 or £450. However, the website also revealed that customers can still purchase the item for $650 or £450 if they have the "discount code."

"This product is only available to priority pre-order customers with a valid discount code," as stated on the website. '

Buying the PS5 according to the price is not guaranteed

This means that although the customers buy the PS5 according to the price set by Currys, they still wouldn't receive the console. Instead, they'll receive a refund within a few days.

"Please be aware only pre-orders placed with a valid unique code will be fulfilled. All other orders will be cancelled," added the message.

The discount code will make sure that the priority customers, who paid a deposit for access, will be able to buy it. Even if the interested buyers paid $6 or £5, they'd still receive the code that has a value of $2,620 or £2,005.

What the actual PS5 looks like?

Business Insider revealed what the PlayStation 5 looks up close. Although the popular console is set to launch on Nov. 12, Sony still provided BI early access to the PS5.

PlayStation 5 reaches nearly 16 inches tall on its vertical stand, making it a beast console. What's good about this product is that it fits into a TV stand. However, its large footprint makes it too big for bookshelves and desk setups.

PS5 also sits on a stand in horizontal mode and is much larger compared to PlayStation 4.
