When it comes to drone technology, DJI drones have a long list to choose from. Among them are Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini. Here is a quick preview of what the two have to offer.

Mavic Air 2 Features, Price and Specs

Mavic Air 2 stands between the high-end and entry-level drone classification. Reports suggest that this drone's intelligent flight features make it an exciting addition to the DJI drone family.

DJI Mavic Air 2 boasts of an upgraded OcuSync 2.0 transmission technology for up to 10km of stable HD video feed. The said transmission offers an auto-switching feature and supports 2.4Hz as well as 5.8Hz frequency.

Holding the record of being the first series to offer a 60fps and 120Mbps 4K video, Mavic Air 2 has the capacity to record 4x Slow Motion in 1080p at 120fps or 8x Slow Motion in 1080p at 240fps using HDR videos.

DJI Mavic Air 2 also provides less camera shake air flights with its built-in mechanical 3-axis gimbal. The newest addition to its features comes through a high-resolution 48-mega pixel shooting option.

This drone comes 180 x 97 x 84mm when folded and 183 x 253 x 77mm when unfolded with a weight of 572g. It can stand on air for 34 straight minutes at a maximum distance of 10km. It goes as fast as 19m/s with a focal length of 24mm and a Sensor size of 1/2-inch CMOS.

Drone lovers may purchase the Mavic Air 2 at two different options. A drone, remote controller, and required wires come at $799 / £769. While a Mavic Air 2 with three batteries, charging hub, ND filters, and shoulder bag is priced at $988 / £949.

Mavic Mini Features, Specs and Price

Meanwhile, the smaller yet equally durable DJI drone boasts of outstanding features as well. It comes so light at 250 grams making it exempted from flight regulations in some countries.

According to DroneDJ, countries such as the United States and Canada do not require Mavic Mini government registration. Due to its size, the drone is classified as a hobbyist.

Since Mavic Mini comes in a small package, some features found in Mavic Air 2 may notbe  present on this entry-level device. However, this does not leave Mini behind when it comes to performance.

Mavic Mini combines fantastic intelligent flight modes with an excellent camera resulting in an easier flying filming experience.

DJI Mini specifically measures 140 × 82 × 57 mm when folded, 160 × 202 × 55 mm when unfolded and 245 × 290 × 55 mm when unfolded with propellers.

During flights in calm conditions, Mavic Mini can go at 8.7 mph (14 km/h). It can last to a maximum of 30 minutes flying time and can reach 1.86 miles (3 km) above sea level.

For precision hovering, Mavic Mini uses Vision Sensors + GPS signal. This makes the entry-level drone stand in windless conditions for up to 29 minutes.

Depending on the bundle and accessories of choice, the Mavic Mini price starts at $434.

Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Mini Date of Release

Mavic Mini debuted in October last year and reports suggest that a Mini 2 could be out in the market same time this year. Meanwhile, Mavic Air 2 rolled out last April.
