Chinese start-up Kandi would soon debut its compact and mini electric vehicles for the city with only 59 miles of range and an affordable price tag of $7,999 in California after tax incentives and credits. The Chinese EV "K27" and "K23" recently clears for road use and soon hit the roads with minimal size and range.

The rising car manufacturer, Kandi, is the first electric vehicle company start-up to branch out of mainland China and market its native design of EV to the US. Kandi would be facing off against the clean energy company, Tesla, and other manufacturers such as Ford, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Toyota, etc.

The country possesses one of the most open markets for electric vehicles that are surfacing in the global market at present. The United States is among the leading countries for electric vehicle development and integration, along with European countries and China's Asian country.

The rise of electric vehicle popularity has Tesla leading the country's sales and even the global market's charts and graphs. Tesla recently dominated the EV market against known manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Hyundai, and BMW. Despite this, Kandi still pushes through and applies for the EPA certification and road permits.

According to Green Car Report, the Chinese start-up, Kandi, would soon roll-out its electric vehicles to the public with the "K27" and "K23" models, respectively. Both vehicles are four-door compact hatchbacks with a small 17.7 kWh battery pack under its hood.

The K27 is the smaller version of the EV hatch that only registers 59 miles of range, ideally for city driving. The car charges for seven hours on a 240V AC (Level 2) outlet, with no fast-charging option that goes with it. The vehicle can seat four adults inside the cabin comfortably while having limited cargo space on full capacity.

Kandi aims to make an "Auto EVolution" with its cheap and affordable electric vehicles with a top speed of 63 miles per hour only. The company could soon begin selling its vehicles because of its recent awarding of 'Certificate of Conformity' from the US EPA.

The electric vehicle only registers 136 inches from its nose to bumper, shorter than the European Mini Cooper SE Electric. The vehicle also offers a 9-inch Bluetooth-enabled infotainment system with a touchscreen.

Kandi's electric vehicle will be joining the EV revolution in California that prohibits the sale of internal-combustion engines (ICE) for both gasoline and diesel cars by 2035.

How Much Would Kandi's EV Cost?

Kandi is offering the K27 for a low starting price of $20,499 without all the incentives, discounts, and tax credits. The company offers a $3,000 discount for everyone who will purchase within the first 1,000 units of the vehicle, lowering the price to $17,499. Additionally, California's state offers a $7,500 Federal Tax Credit and a $2,000 Incentive, further reducing the price.

In total, Kandi's K27 would debut for only $7,999, along with all the discounts, incentives, and credits from both the state and company. This price lines-up with several second-hand vehicles that are present in the market today. The bigger K23 lists a price of $29,999 without all the discounts.
