The current iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max is missing a feature that OnePlus and Samsung flagships have. These Apple products don't have a ProMotion display with a high refresh rate.
However, iPhone 13 could receive it once it is released. According to Phone Arena's latest report, LG is planning to increase the modern LTPO OLED displays it supplies to Apple.
As of the moment, LG claimed that it will produce more than 20 million panels for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. This is currently a huge news because the smartphone display manufacturer is increasing production of low-temperature polycrystalline oxide panels, which are used in displays with high refresh rates.
Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is currently ahead of iPhone 12
As of the moment, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra has the upper hand over Apple's flagships. It uses an LTPO display to dynamically adjust the screen's refresh rate to reflect what the user is accessing in their device.

If an individual is playing an online game, Samsung's device will use its maximum 120Hz refresh rate. However, if the user is doing an online task that doesn't benefit from Note 20 Ultra's 120Hz refresh rate, it will automatically slow the refresh rate.
This feature allows the device to save its battery. Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S21 might also adopt the same LTPO technology.
Why Apple wants to have LTPO technology
Because of LTPO's promising performance, Apple also wants to have it in its iPhone lineup. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max were rumored to be receiving the same technology Samsung currently has.
However, the tech giant company wasn't able to get it because of the low display supply. Toms Guide reported that although there's no confirmation yet that the next iPhone models will have a 120Hz refresh rate, the LTPO display is still an exciting new addition.
This might also solve the problem that the users face regarding battery life since LTPO panels consume less energy compared to LTPS screens, which Apple currently uses.
