Google has now updated its storage policies across Google Account. This update serves as a reminder the people should not always depend on just one company's cloud storage to hold their data forever.

Slash Gear reported that Google published a blog post to reveal its new rules regarding inactive Gmail, Photos, and Drive accounts. Google Sheets, Slides, Docs, Forms, Drawings, and Jamboard files are also affected.
According to Google's blog post, all inactive accounts in the following services for two years will be deleted on June 1, 2021. Even if you're account is not used because of over-limit storage, as long as it's inactive for 24 months, the company will still delete your content across Drive, Photos, and Gmail.
What you need to do
The easiest way to keep your Google accounts is to access them from time to time through a web browser or mobile. The search engine giant will notify the users multiple times before their accounts or content are removed.

This will give you enough time to take action before your accounts are removed. On the other hand, if you don't have stable internet, you can use the "Inactive Account Manager."
This will help you manage certain content in your accounts and will assist you to notify a trusted contact if you're account has been inactive between 3 to 18 months.
Managing your Google storage
Google also has a free storage manager that will help you handle your storage across Drive, Photos, and Gmail easier. You can use this service using your Google One app.
It also has a web version. The free storage manager allows you to delete the files you no longer need to give you more space. You can upgrade to a larger plan with the help of Google One if the free 15GB is not enough.
The plans available start at 100 GB of space that also include additional member features such as shared family plans, Google experts, and more.
