Google confirmed that its collaboration suite now has the ability to edit Microsoft office directly via iOS. What's great about this is that users no longer need to covert the content into file types.

With Google's innovation, Workspace users can now edit, collaborate, and comment on Office files using their iPads, MacBooks, and iPhone smartphones. The tools they can use include Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs.

Tech Radar reported that Google posted a blog post, stating that the new feature is already available on iOS devices. On the other hand, according to 9to5Google, this innovation was first released on Android gadgets.

Editing, commenting, and collaborating are not benefits that users can get. iOS device owners can also improve sharing controls and options while reducing the need to download and email file attachments.

iOS Google Workspace supports different Microsoft Office file types. These include .docx, .dot, .xls, .doc, .xlsx, .ppt, .xlt, .xlsm, .pot, .pps, and .pptx files.

How to use Google Workspace edit in Microsoft Office

The first step you need to do is to open an Office file in Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs. You can do this by clicking the MS Office file inside the Google Productivity application.

After that, you must simply tap Open a file on your iOS devices to edit content. Once you successfully opened a file, double-click the word or sentence you want to edit. You can do this by tapping the "Edit Link" option on Google Docs. To Make it easy for you, just tap the blue markers to select the text you want to change.

If you want to add an Office file to Google Drive, you can simply open the Google Drive app. First, choose the "plus" symbol and tap the "Upload" option.

After that, you can convert the Office files to Google files by opening the app itself and tap the menu options. This is located next to the file that requires to be converted.
