The Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, or GITEX, is set to launch a huge five-day tech show, from December 6 to 10, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, UAE.

As one of the largest computer and electronics trade show events in the world, GITEX Technology Week will be hosting more than 1200 tech enterprises, startups, and government organizations from around 60 different countries. The five-day event is also looking at more than 200 investors and venture capitalists from more than 30 countries, checking the pulse of the industry and hopefully, their next partners.

GITEX 2020 is also welcoming its and biggest delegation of tech and business visionaries from Israel. The inaugural UAE-Israel Future Digital Economy Summit is expected to open doors for business collaborations, investor networking, and sharing of tech and innovations between the two progressive nations.

Big Tech, Big Trends, Big Guests

Some of the global tech enterprises set to make an appearance at this year's GITEX Technology Week include business communication and cloud leader Avaya, mobile communications companies China Mobile, Commvault, and Huawei. Even tech giants Dell Technologies and Microsoft will be present at the event. 

Claiming to be the only global tech show in 2020 live, and in-person, this year's GITEX Technology Week attendees will meet hundreds of speakers on-stage, with the event seeing close to 300 hours of relevant content in today's fast-changing technology-driven world. Some of its guests include American hacker, inventor, and entrepreneur Pablos Holman. The futurist has been a part of the startup team at Blue Origin, the aerospace company founded by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Also sharing his unique insight and experience is Nolan Bushnell, electrical engineer, and entrepreneur widely regarded as one of the founding fathers of the video game industry. Bushnell founded video game company Atari, Inc. as well as the Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theatre chain of restaurants.

Lastly, described in the event flyer as " the strangest encounter where tech & creativity collide," is John Cleese - comedian, screenwriter, and producer best known as co-founder and member of legendary comedy troupe Monty Python.

A Week-Long Tech Show in the New Normal

In line with existing safety protocols, GITEX will be enforcing a set of safety protocols. "We are committed to providing you with a safe environment to do business, in accordance with all the health & safety guidelines set out by the local authorities," the organizers stated in the official event flyer. "The event will be delivered with strict standards of health & safety precautionary measures including temperature screening, social distancing, contactless transactions & hygiene protocols at all times."

Among these safety protocols is the issuance of advance and online registration, with attendee badges being print at home only. Organizers have announced that there will be no registration and no badges will be issued on-site. Also, during the five-day tech show, wearing face masks is mandatory.

Additionally, contactless temperature screening is implemented, and chairs at the conference are protected with an antimicrobial shield, with periodic sanitization by event staff.
