Rumors say that Apple might be working on a 32-core processor for high-end MacBooks! The tech giant manufacturer could also release a new half-sized Mac Pro, which is expected to arrive by 2022.

According to Bloomberg, the alleged chip could also appear in the new half-sized Mac Pro once it is released in 2022. Apple is also developing CPU designs.

This rumored hardware might have four power-efficient cores and up to 16 high-performance cores. The alleged CPU designs could be integrated into the new versions of iMac and MacBook Pro.

The Verge reported that the new chips could arrive earlier than expected, Apple could even release them in 2021. GPUs with up to 128 dedicated cores could also be seen in the upcoming Apple Silicon designs.

All MacBooks could have Apple's own chips

As of the moment, Apple is using its in-house M1 chips in its MacBooks such as MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, and MacBook Air. These devices feature a CPU with four high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores.

However, there are still some Mac devices that use Intel's chips, including Mac Pro. Now, Apple wants to transition its whole Mac lineup onto its in-house chips.

The tech giant company plans to finish its program in a span of two years. As of the moment, Apple is making efforts to increase the CPU core count. Not only that, but the giant manufacturer is also planning to develop chips that have more GPU cores.

More powerful Apple chips are coming

Since Apple's current M1 chip has seven or eight GPU cores, the company wants to release new chips more powerful than M1. Apple is now testing chip models with 16 and 32-cores and could manufacturer around 128 units by the end of 2021 or by 2022.

However, the tech giant manufacturer my decision to release chips with eight or 12 cores, depending on how the company successfully manufactures them. The company is already working on its 8-core high-performance chip before it even announced that it is switching to ARM-based processors.

Who knows the great features that MacBooks will offer once they have Apple's upcoming chips.
