SpaceX recently concluded its test flight of the Mars-bound SN8 Starship that exploded into flames upon its landing, which CEO Elon Musk still considers success and breakthrough for the stainless steel spacecraft. The public might think that the CEO is backwards thinking, but he explains that the SN8's initial objectives of launching 12km high and landing maneuver were successful.

The private aerospace manufacturer and technology company, SpaceX, is now celebrating together with Elon Musk for SN8 Starship's test flight, which revealed the spacecraft's achievements and flaws made for Mars. The unique rocket is one of its early prototypes, featuring stainless steel that the space industry avoided.

Elon Musk: SN8 Starship's Test Flight Was a Success

The SN8 Starship is one of the boldest creation in the space industry, with famous reusable rocket designers' SpaceX to feature the spacecraft. The company is led by its eccentric CEO, Elon Musk, who previously claimed that the SN8 Starship would soon bring humans to the Red Planet in four to six years.

SpaceX Starship Launch Explosion: Elon Musk Explains Cause

According to Elon Musk's Twitter account (@elonmusk), the spacecraft has one out of three chances to land safely, and the slim margin was right on the CEO's prediction. Moreover, SpaceX considers this a success because of the complexity of its launch, maneuver, and the famous "bellyflop" landing that its controls attempted.

The SN8 Starship showed much potential on its second attempt of the test flight, making the CEO excited and saying that the company is already coming for Mars. The different complex processes in flying the SN8 were all a success, including the header tanks switch and flap control of the Starship.

SpaceX SN8 Starship: Explosion Was Caused by Rocket Fuel System Issue and Crash Landing

The SN8 Starship crash-landed on its way back to the ground, then exploding in green and yellow flames, which were immediately extinguished by the respondents. The disastrous end for SpaceX's test flight attempt for SN8 would have been foreseen as bad if it were not for Elon Musk's immediate explanation.

The SpaceX Livestream showed that the SN8 presented signs of rocket fuel system issues towards the end of the test flight, causing the spacecraft to crash land and burst into flames. The Raptor engines still need work, which SpaceX and Elon Musk would deliver in the future.

Elon Musk and SpaceX's duo embrace their mistakes and try to learn from them, turning the disastrous end into a success for the company's stainless steel spacecraft test launch. SpaceX would now get its hands full on developing the SN8 Starship, soon to have no crash lands or explosions on its flight.

The CEO called the spacecraft the "gateway to Mars," soon bringing the public and venturing to worlds unknown. The company is optimistically planning a vacation or exotic getaway for people towards the Red Planet, commercializing space travel for everyone.
