The most memorable thing about the 2020 is arguably the coronavirus since it has shifted everything from the way people work, the way they purchase, and now even the way they watch movies. Due to the pandemic, a number of movies have reportedly been canceled while a few others have been looking for ways to release despite the ongoing COVID-19.

Wonder Woman 1984 Full Movie

Ahead of Wonder Woman 1984's official release in theaters as well as streaming tomorrow, HBO Max is now confirming certain details regarding how fans will be able to watch Wonder Woman 1984 on the brand new Chromecast with Google TV. However, this reportedly lacks the support needed for Dolby Atmos, according to the story from 9to5mac.

Google's brand new streaming stick is said to be a pretty good option that was noted by another article by 9to5mac for both its price as well as its useful interface. On top of everything, the said device supports most of the streaming formats like HDR and 4K. This includes Dolby Atmos but it seems like HBO Max is shockingly lacking support for the particular audio format on the Chromecast as well as Google TV.

Wonder Woman 1984 HBO Max

According to the official HBO Max support page, details were published regarding how as well as where fans will be able to watch the new Wonder Woman 1984 in 4K HDR. This includes the brand new Chromecast with Google TV and even Google's own Chromecast Ultra. Beyond this, Android TVs, the Apple TV 4K, select Fire TVs, and the compatible Rokus can all stream with the Dolby Vision and the HDR10 as long as the users' TV supports it.

The official HBO Max app has recently added support for the 4K HDR in the latest update of this app. However, it does not really note that the Chromecast with Google TV won't be supporting Dolby Atmos. This is even though the device in itself still does not support the standard audio with the other apps. HBO also does not specify a particular reason for the awkward lack of support. It was also reportedly odd that the Google streamers were the ONLY ones that lacked it.

HBO Max Dolby Atmos

It was stated that Wonder Woman 1984 will be the very first title on HBO Max that will be available for watching in 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and even Dolby Atmos. The top 4K HDR viewing experience is now going to be available on the selected 4K devices. Wonder Woman 1984 is now also available in HD for all of the other supported devices. It was then specifically noted that Dolby Atmos won't be available with the Chromecast with Google TV. The main reason for HBO Max not showing Wonder Woman 1984 on Dolby Atmos is probably not due to any feud existing but rather just a lack in compatibility.
