GSM Arena previously reported that WhatsApp, an application owned by Facebook, introduced a new privacy policy that will share user data with other FB companies.

This just one of the main reasons why you definitely should delete your Facebook account. To help you know more, here are the three major reasons why you should get rid of your account.

WhatsApp shares user data with FB

Forbes reported that WhatsApp now shares its users' data with Facebook. This new policy currently applies to those people living in the E.U. or the U.K. What's more annoying about this is that you need to accept the new policy if you want to continue using WhatsApp.

The British government has made proposals which would force Social networking websites such as Facebook to pass on details of users, friends and contacts to help fight terrorism.

The current situation is very different from what Facebook promised back in 2014. When the tech giant manufacturer acquired WhatsApp, it promised the users that it will keep the two platforms separate.

"Hey, remember when Facebook bought WhatsApp and swore they wouldn't do this? Surprise!" said Eva Galperin, cybersecurity and digital rights group's director, via Forbes.

"As we announced in October, WhatsApp wants to make it easier for people to both make a purchase and get help from a business directly on WhatsApp," responded Facebook.

Facebook can collect huge amounts of user data

On the other hand, researchers also confirmed that Facebook can really collect huge amounts of data. You can see this if you visit the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store. These will show you how much the social media platform tracks you when you are using your device.

The collected information includes financial information, purchase history, contact info, contact numbers, user content, browsing history, search history, and location data.

You can be tracked while using other apps

Aside from using the Facebook app itself, the giant social media platform can also track you even if you are using other websites or apps that are not connected with them. This is also the reason that sparked the issue between Apple and Facebook.

The problem is about the latter which is about to launch an anti-tracking feature that tracks the end of the identifier for advertisers or IDFA. Apple said that the key to a better partnership is transparency. However, FB reasoned out that once they lose their tracking capability, it will affect the company's SMB advertisers.
