CES 2021 has brought many wonders of technology from different companies, aiming to better human lives in every way possible, and Pioneer's latest release is all about an easy integration of iPhones to car stereos. Apple's CarPlay is a nifty vehicle feature for all iPhone users for a hands-free experience while driving and answering calls or playing music.

The Japanese digital entertainment manufacturing company, Pioneer, recently announced that it now releases the DMH-WC5700NEX, which not only brings CarPlay to vehicles but also provide a solution to dashboard integration. Not all cars are the same, and each design sacrifices one of the other, with Pioneer USA aiming to solve that problem for a better addition.

According to Pioneer USA's press release, it has specifically gone along the CES 2021 to unveil the new car stereo to properly showcase and offer it to people in search of better technology for their vehicles. All of the features of its 9-inch DMH-WC6600NEX release last 2020 would now be in the smaller, 6.8-inch stereo for specific dashboards.

Pioneer CarPlay: Smaller Stereo, Same Multimedia Features, and Tech

One thing which Pioneer promised the public in CES 2021, is its latest DMH-WC5700NEX would not sacrifice the features and technology that are seen and available on its bigger counterpart, the DMH-WC6600NEX. From Alexa voice command to Android Auto (wired and wireless), and Apple CarPlay (wired and wireless), everything will be found in the more compact infotainment system.

The modular dashboard integration promises the public that it would have "dash kit packages" for specific vehicles that may not be accepted in regular aftermarket car shops that offer stereos. Some car stereos are stubbornly integrated into dashboards, even aftermarket shops cannot solve them without avoiding damage to the dash.

Pioneer's concern goes out for vehicles, both old and new, with dashboards that are specifically designed for stock car radios, including its displays and controls that include the climate systems. The DMH-WC5700NEX would be an "in-dash upgrade solution" according to Ted Cardenas, vice president of marketing for Pioneer Electronics USA.

Pioneer Modular CarPlay Stereo: Specs

Apart from Alexa voice command, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Pioneer's DMH-WC5700NEX still have a wide variety of features and specs that is essential for specific uses and car multimedia entertainment. The radio can play Hi-Res audio files including FLAC, a 13-band equalizer (EQ), 4V preamplifier outputs for subwoofers, SiriusXM-ready, etc.

The car stereo can seamlessly connect with smartphones to feature an in-car movie experience, that can relay video and display to rear seats via an HDMI connection. Moreover, it also features a rear-camera input for reverse cams, Bluetooth connectivity, and RGB illumination for its display.

Price and Release Date

Pioneer's listing in Amazon for the DMH-WC6600NEX (9-inch variant) is at $895, and seeing that this car stereo is smaller, it would be cheaper at a starting price of $650 (or more). Pioneer has not yet revealed its selling price but it is slated for the summer of 2021.
