As one of the most technologically advanced regions in the world, North America has often set the pace for IoT development for the global community. Having a physical presence in the US and Canada has helped Tuya to expand aggressively on the ground, striking up many partnerships and showcasing the platform and products that have been developed by Tuya's IoT community. For example, Tuya has announced its new smart outdoor solutions at CES 2021, including devices for both travel and tracking. To this end, Tuya Smart announced collaboration with Silicon Labs (NASDAQ: SLAB), a leading provider of silicon, software, and solutions for a smarter, more connected world. The objective is to build a low-power Wi-Fi platform solution for smart door locks that will extend to other future smart home applications.
North America's strengths in IoT lies in innovation and coming up with new and exciting solutions to everyday problems. This has been one key mission for Tuya and its partners like BAZZ, an established Canadian lighting designer and manufacturer, and Flexfire LEDs, a leader in strip lighting LEDs, to develop BAZZ Smart Home and Leona Smart Home respectively. Tuya is also equally involved in other parts of the growing IoT ecosystem in North America. The membership means Tuya will continue to drive the direction of IoT device security by participating in ioXt's collaborative, cross-industry initiative to establish and advocate for best practices and standards in IoT and cybersecurity. The ioXt Alliance is a group of more than 200leading OEMs, wireless carriers, standards groups, compliance labs, and government organizations dedicated to harmonizing best security practices and establishing testable standards that give manufacturers, retailers, and consumers products confidence in a highly connected world. Products that are certified through the ioXt Certification Program are evaluated against eight different ioXt pledge principles that outline required levels of security. Once devices pass lab or self-attestation testing, they are deemed safe to receive the ioXtSmartCert label.
These North American partnerships have allowed Tuya to strengthen and deepen its involvement with global partners, forming an integral part of the supply chain for IoT products. This has enabled the company to further its vision of supporting the development of IoT developers around the world.
