Apple unveils iOS 14's new BlastDoor security feature for iPhone and iPad's Messages app. The new system is expected to prevent and block serious online attacks on the mentioned devices.

According to MacRumors' latest report, the tech giant manufacturer hasn't released specific details yet about the new security system. Although this is the case, ZDNet reported that a blog post was able to reveal important information about it.
The blog post was posted by Samuel Grob, a security researcher with Google's Project Zero. The experts explained that the new security system is a tightly sandboxed service that is focused on preventing untrusted data in iMessages.
BlastDoor's features
The new BlastDoor security system can execute code separately from the OS. It is also the one that operates within the Messages app of Google.

Experts explained that its goal is to look at all incoming messages and inspect their content in a secure environment. This method allows BlastDoor to prevent any malicious code inside a message from interacting with iOS or accessing sensitive user data.
Developers specifically designed the new security system to prevent specific attack types. These include hackers' brute force attacks and other cybercriminals' used shared cache.
The innovation is quite handy today since many hackers and cyber attackers are evolving and finding new methods on how to breach the latest security systems. On the other hand, tech giant manufacturers and security software developers are also making efforts so that they can provide new security systems that can prevent the latest hacking methods.
Meanwhile, security researchers also focused on finding the remote code execution bugs in iMessage, which allows an iPhone to be infiltrated by hackers through a text message. And now, since they already found the code, BlastDoor is expected to continue their work and block the hackers from using iMessage and Messages apps.
Message's flaw
Security researchers found the app's remote code execution (RCE) bugs. They said that hackers and other online attackers abused these vulnerabilities to develop exploits that allowed them to take control over an iPhone.
Experts claim that hackers can do this by only sending a video, photo, or text message to their victim's device. Since BlastDoor is already unveiled, Apple is expecting the new security system to prevent specific attacks. However, it is still hard to conclude if it will be effective or not.
