Emily Austin is Making Waves in the Realm of Sports Journalism

Most people in the late teens have very few accomplishments on their resumes. And yet, to list yourself as a star athlete, actor, journalist, and model with a Times Square billboard is an impressive feat at any age. To do this at 19 is almost unheard of, but that is precisely what Emily Austin has done.

Currently majoring in journalism at Hofstra University, Austin is already engaged in her career path. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she was 18 years old and wanted to do something productive in quarantine. A powerhouse tennis player from the age of four until college, Austin is a sports enthusiast and comfortable in front of the camera. She decided to combine her passions into sports journalism, starting her popular Instagram and Tiktok show' Daily Vibes With'.

Thanks to her rise in social media, Austin has welcomed guest athletes like Mitchell Robinson, Immanuel Quickley, Ben McLemore, Carlos Boozer, and Zach Banner. She credits being an athlete herself to providing the necessary perspective to fully relate to those she interviews. Austin's post-college plans are to work with an NBA franchise, a goal that appears to be in very close reach for this ambitious young lady.

Austin isn't giving up acting and modeling, though. She was a Miss New York contestant and has been featured on the Klass Kulture website and its billboard in Times Square. Her acting skills were flexed in the films Isn't It Romantic (2019) and An American Pickle (2020). Austin has also appeared in multiple magazines, fashion websites and has even walked the runway. She is especially proud of her new tennis commercial for Sweet Spotter.

Austin has shown herself to be an exceptional sports journalist. In addition to describing this work as therapeutic, her series reveals just how much of a doer she is. Like her presence on the tennis court, Austin crushed her goal of creating a platform to combine her love of sports and journalism. Daily Vibes With offers fresh and modern insight on celebrity athletes, and it's easy to see Austin is enjoying every moment she outs into her show.
