The fast-changing times have greatly influenced how people consume media. Technology has afforded us to access it when and where we want it. And every now then, a product comes in offering just that.

(Full disclosure, the folks at Zamkol has approached us to give their ZK106 Wireless Bluetooth speakers a try. And here's our honest hands-on review).

Zamkol, the emerging audio output equipment leader, returns with the ZK106 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker - a slimmer addition to the ZK series with all the brilliant audio quality we all know and love. The TechTimes team gets its hand on the new speaker and found a few nifty tricks up its sleeve.

Zamkol ZK106: A Mini Soundbar For Indoor and Outdoor Use

Again safely packaged, the unit includes a user manual, a USB Type-C charging cable, and an AUX cable - making a stand-alone, plug-and-play speaker that works with most modern devices as well as audio systems. For Bluetooth capable smartphones and tablets, the connection is fast and secure with the Bluetooth 5.0 technology, going as far as 100 meters on clear paths.

For other applications that are not Bluetooth supported, such as televisions and radios, its auxiliary 3.5mm audio jack could handle most wired connections.

Measuring 7.2 x 1.96 x 2.36 inches, it is also a slimmer (though slightly longer) alternative to Zamkol's early releases. For reference, the Zamkol ZK6060 measures 2.7 x 2.8 x 7 inches. Coming out of the box as a small black rectangle, this new wireless Bluetooth speaker adapts the homely soundbox design instead of the spherical can-like designs of other products.

Its soundbar appeal has four rubber footings underneath, which reduces slip even when you place it on uneven surfaces and absorbs vibration when the ZK106 starts playing sounds. Its control buttons are also laid out on top of the unit, keeping the use of this wireless Bluetooth speaker accessible and convenient.

Its face is a black mesh that slightly reveals the speakers behind it, with the white typography for "Zamkol" clearly printed in the front and center. With its chassis made from hard plastic, you can expect it to survive a few drops as well as splashes with its IPX7 waterproof rating. Also, near the back of the item is a built-in keyring, making this mini soundbar easy to hook up to bags to branches for that outdoor listening sessions.

Built For Hours of Listening

Boasting a 4,000mAh battery capacity with its built-in lithium-ion batteries, the ZK106 promises to keep up for extended listening. Running it at around 40 percent volume and then leaving it to play for the rest of the day, Zamkol ZK106 managed to keep playing for more than 20 hours nonstop. Additionally, its energy-saving feature allows the wireless Bluetooth speaker to shut down after a few minutes of inactivity.

As for audio quality, it offers well-balanced bass and treble outputs. The clarity of its audio output manages to remain consistent from 20%, 40%, and even at max volume. Even at its loudest levels, the sound still does not distort.

There you have it, a trusty audio buddy for both solo listening sessions and the outdoor sound trip is possible with the Zamkol ZK106. While it's not built to bring the house down, it can accompany you for longer and with reliable audio quality.

You can get your own Zamkol ZK106 wireless Bluetooth speaker, still available on Amazon. Furthermore, as a treat, you can get this for 20% off from Feb. 3 to 14 with the promo code: 20C7EUBW
