However, there's a catch. You can only use this device to find things you lost if it is attached to one of them. This means that the only belongings you can find are keys, backpacks, purses, and other items that you usually attached to the SmartTag.

Samsung's SmartTag uses a Bluetooth connection so that it can work. This means that you need to use a smartphone that has an app specifically designed to access SmartTag locating feature. As of the moment, the SmartTag Plus, which has an ultrawideband wireless feature, is only compatible with the latest Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphones, as reported by CNET. To help you further, here's how you can use it.

How to use Samsung SmartTag

The first thing you need to do is download the SmartThings Find apps. You can find this on Google App Store. Once you installed this app, you need to tap on the Find card feature and pick the belonging you want to look for, and wait for it to load.

If you're close to the lost item, you use the gauge on the screen to show how far away the item is. The fuller the gauge gets, the closer you are. To help you find the tag, you can make it play a sound.

However, if the tag isn't close to you, you can still find it. Meanwhile, your app's gauge will get fuller if you are getting closer to the item you have lost. You can also activate its sound so that you will know that your belonging is near even if you are not looking on your phone.

How good is it?

Samsung Newsroom's previous report stated that the SmartTag is very handy not only for the things you usually use but also for your pets and even your kids. You can attach it to your dog's collar so that when they roam around, you can easily find them.

If you are shopping with your kid, just attach your SmartTag on their belt or bag so you can easily know where they are in case they suddenly get lost.

"The Galaxy SmartTag is a compact, easy-to-use solution that helps you protect your possessions, from small objects to your most valuable belongings," said Samsung via Samsung Newsroom.

"If you are prone to misplacing things and want to take better care of your belongings, the Galaxy SmartTag is for you," the tech giant manufacturer added.
