The Oculus Quest 2 is a hit, which is why the Oculus Quest 3 is now in the works. But Facebook, which owns Oculus, is not likely to release the Oculus Quest 3 anytime soon.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that the company is continuing to work on a new hardware too. The new Oculus hardware will fit the same platform.

Zuckerberg added that Facebook wishes to have the content that works on Quest 2 and that is should be forward-compatible. This would suggest that the social networking giant has plans to make more Quest headsets in the near future.

The Oculus Quest 2 is chosen as the best VR headset that you can purchase right now according to critics. Which is why fans of the product are keen to see an Oculus Quest 3.

Information is limited, and there isn't much details that are leaked but this is what was released so far.
Oculus Quest 3 release date

The Oculus Quest 2 came out in the fall of 2020, so it is possible that the Oculus Quest 3 will not arrive in 2021 but in 2022. However, it is possible that it would be released in early 2023, according to PCMag.

Oculus Quest 3 price

The Oculus Quest 2 costs around $299 for a 64GB model and it will cost you $399 for a 256GB model. Both of them sold very well, according to Tom's Guide.

Because of this amazing review, the Oculus Quest 3 is expected to be a direct replacement for its predecessor, and it might likely keep the same price bands.

Fans would like to see it come in at a slightly lower price and let people have a taste of the world of virtual reality. However, people suspect that the Oculus Quest 3 is not likely to drop below $250 mark.

Oculus Quest 3 specs and rumors

By default, the most obvious spec the Oculus Quest 3 will have is a 120Hz display. The current Oculus Quest 2 can support a 120Hz refresh rate but it still need apps to upscale the content in order to do so, according to TechRadar.

A new refresh rate out of the box would definitely make fans happy, especially by those who can suffer from motion sickness when they are using VR headsets.

Aside from that, fans can expect that there will be an upgraded chipset just like from Qualcomm. This could be a custom silicon, instead of an off-the-shelf chipset.

An improved battery life would also be great, as well as a cable bundled into the box instead of an expensive optional extra to let the user plug the Quest 3 into a gaming PC.

Oculus Quest 3: What fans like to see

Fans of the gadget were very impressed with the Oculus Quest 2, but there is still room for improvement in Oculus Quest 3. Fans want rechargeable controllers, boosted hand-tracking controls, an even higher refresh rate and more Oculus apps.

The Oculus Store is not short on VR apps and games, but people are keen to see more. Games that deliver the immersive VR experiences, instead of the arcade-like action. It can help the Oculus Quest 3 stand apart from Oculus Quest 2.
