'Overwatch': Genji, Reaper, Mei, and Other Fan-Favorites Will Get Buff

'Overwatch' New Patch Notes

Forbes reports that the new "Overwatch" patch notes come with hero buffs to some fan favorites. In the latest patch, Genji's Shurikens have now a fire rate boost to make the hero more effective throughout the games, and players would not rely so much on his Dragonblade to dominate the enemy team. For compensation, Genji's Dragonblade on "Overwatch" will take longer to charge up and will have a higher cost by 15 percent.

Meanwhile, Blizzard also has eyes for Mei's self-healing rate, getting an increase from 37.5 to 50, making up for the fact that teammates cannot heal her while in Cryo-Freeze. Besides that, Pharah's Hover Jet fuel will regenerate faster now in the new "Overwatch" patch.

According to Community Manager Josh Nash, the dev team is adjusting Pharah's fuel regeneration rate more efficiently, allowing her to maintain uptime at reasonable heights. And if "Overwatch" players can be smart about it, they can stay in the air for a little longer.

Blizzard is also dialling it down on the recent nerf with Reaper' Hellfire Shotguns. In the Experimental mode in "Overwatch," the hero will deal a bit more damage per pellet as they increase it from 5.5 to six.

On the tank side, Sigma's barrier is going to be online far more often now. While the cooldown was nerfed to three seconds, it will be buffed again, and it has been reduced to just two seconds. This buff can help Sigma players asset dominance in the primary tank role in "Overwatch."

And finally, Zarya is getting nerfed with being the only nerf this new "Overwatch" patch for her is her energy drain rate increased from 1.6 to .18 seconds. The devs state that Zarya is a consistent hero with The Tack category for several team compositions.

The Blizzard devs continued, saying that it slightly increased Zarya's energy drain rate to bring her average energy down between engagements in "Overwatch," as Dexerto reports.

'Overwatch' Competitive Season Delayed

Forbes also reports that the next season for "Overwatch," Season 27, will be delayed as Blizzard had a technical issue rolling out for the new season. Community Manager Josh Nash stated that the team is extending Season 26 while tying to fix the problem.

As things stand, "Overwatch" Season 26 is now scheduled to last until 2 PM ET on Tuesday, March 9, with Season 27 starting immediately afterwards without any problems. "Overwatch" players might see on their screens "Season ends in less than a minute," for Season 26, that is not the case.
