Youtuber and engineer Jake Laser had created, built, and wore what is undoubtedly his most ambitious recreation of one of the most iconic costumes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date.

Laser recently posted a 20-minute-long video on his YouTube channel, JLaservideo, which covers an extensive build process of Iron Man's Mark V suit prototype.

As seen in the movie "Iron Man 2," the Mark V, known by its names as the "Football," the "Suitcase Armor," and the "Suitcase Suit," is an Emergency Suit that can fold itself into a briefcase and be deployed for use in civilian areas.

The Mark V was first introduced as Tony Stark's (Robert Downey, Jr.) new briefcase that carries the entire suit in one piece and was only seen when Stark battled against Mickey Rourke's Whiplash.

The suit is easily one of the most iconic Iron Man suits ever featured, and the fan-favorite made a huge impact on the MCU during its earlier years.

Building the 'Suitcase Suit'

According to a report from Nerdist, Laser admitted that it took him hundreds of hours to complete, as it was particularly hard for the ersatz-armor builder to finish due to the extensive amount of metal fabrication required.

Laser's version of the Mark V is made of 100 pounds of cold-rolled steel, as well as dozens of individual parts that must perfectly go with the neighboring pieces.

The final reveal shows exactly how much the prototype nails the aesthetics of the original Iron Man suit, but it lacks the functionality as seen in the movie.

The Marvel fan said that the suit was just one of the many iterations of the prototype.

Turning Fantasy into Reality

The "Suitcase Suit" is not the only recreation Laser had featured in his YouTube channel.

Some of his recreations include T'Challa's sound-absorbing sneakers and the Spider-Man web shooters that spray hand sanitizers.

The crazy inventor also tried to recreate fictional gears outside the MCU, such as Inspector Gadget's Extendable Bionic Arm, Mario and Luigi's Fireballs, and even a working Harry Potter wand.

Another YouTube video creator also tried to recreate Tony Stark's technology.

James Hobson, a Canadian former engineer who is known for his YouTube channel Hacksmith Industries, is in a quest to build a fully functional Iron Man suit.

He already succeeded in building a full metal Iron Man helmet and gauntlet with a plasma cutter, an arc reactor, and among other things, JARVIS.

On September 25, 2020, Hobson uploaded a video that shows the process of building Iron Man's other gauntlet - one that features a repulsor.

In the 18-minute video, the Hacksmith team opted to add a photon beam generator capable of burning almost everything.

Unlike Laser's Mark V creation, Hobson and his team focus not only on the suit's aesthetics but also on its overall functionality.

At the end of the video, Hobson demonstrated the destructive power of his newly created gauntlet as he burned several items and life-size dummies.
