What Does the 'New Normal' Look Like for Enterprises?

Despite our wishes, nothing is going back to the "normal" we knew before COVID-19 happened. After this pandemic has passed its height, there will need to be new measures put into place to ensure that everyone stays safe and that we limit the spread as much as possible. That might mean making slight changes to the way we do things at home and at work. Here's what the "new normal" will look like for enterprises.

For Remote Employees

Virtual Meetings

If you haven't had your first virtual meeting, you probably haven't yet felt the pain of terrible connections, poorly organized meeting structure or something else on the endless list of problems virtual meetings seem to be causing. But the fact is, virtual meetings are likely here to stay. So it would be wise to find video conferencing software that makes it easy for reps to stay connected with their sales managers, and for the meeting to be as informative and effective as possible.

Virtual Call Centers

Since most of the entire world has had to shift gears and start working remotely, virtual call centers have become essential. That's why virtual call center management software should be a big part of any company's toolbox. Virtual call centers can help keep your sales reps and sales managers connected so that they can communicate effectively and keep business running efficiently.

For In-Office Employees

Social Distancing

For those of us who have to return to an office environment or a physical workplace of some sort will have to abide by new rules of conduct so that everyone stays safe and limits the spread of the virus. That means you may have to put new rules into place that encourage social distancing. Office desks and cubicles may be separated to account for this change, so make sure your employees are aware of this before they return to the workplace.

Increased Hygiene Standards

As a business owner, you may have to start having your employees wash their hands upon entering the building and whenever they use the restroom (though we should be doing that already). If you're going to be managing employees handling food on the job, you'll likely have to have them wash their hands even more often. If you manage employees that clean as part of their job, they might have to clean more often than usual. You may want to implement a new cleaning schedule to ensure that you're following all of the guidelines as provided by the CDC.

What You Can Do to Adjust

The new normal looks different for everyone, but whether you're in-office or working from home, you can adapt with the right tools and resources. As you've already seen, a virtual call center can make life easier for everyone involved, but more importantly, using one (along with improved hygiene standards, social distancing and virtual meeting software) can ensure that everyone returns to work safely and that they stay that way.
