Samsung is one of the most famous smartphones on the market, and for a good reason. Heavyweight flagship phones like Samsung Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra are very popular, but Samsung has great mid-range and budget models as well.

Whatever you are looking for from a smartphone, there is a Samsung phone that will fit it, as Samsung is known to make some of the best Android phones.

So, how do you choose the best Samsung smartphone?

You will need to consider what you want it to do, how massive it is, and how much you are willing to shell out. The size and the resolution of the display depend on how you use your smartphone. If you stream videos often, edit photos, edit videos, or download and watch movies, then you may want to get a smartphone with a display ranging from 5.5-inch to 6-inch, full-HD, or QHD resolution.

Also, having a higher number of megapixels does not mean that the smartphone camera is better. Several specifications like the camera aperture, pixel size, ISO levels, autofocus, and more are important too.

A 16MP rear camera is not necessarily better than a 12MP camera. The same goes for the front-facing camera.

With that being said, here are the best Samsung smartphones:

Samsung Galaxy S21

The Samsung Galaxy S21 may not be the star of Samsung's S series, but it is still a solid smartphone choice with an impressive camera, powerful internals, and great battery life.

The design is where Samsung has made the most noticeable changes since the S20, overhauling the materials used, the colors, and the device's overall look.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. The phone is the smallest one out of the Galaxy S21 series, and while it may not be as trim as the iPhone 12 Mini, those with smaller hands will not have any trouble using it.

The phone's camera hardware has not changed from last year's phone, as Samsung's big sensor upgrade happened between the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S20 generation. Now the Galaxy S21 is all about the software, and Samsung found a way to slim down the camera module.

The phone also has the same triple-lens rear array: 12MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide, and 64MP telephoto capable of a 3x hybrid optical zoom. The Galaxy S21 also gets some software upgrades to improve things further.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S21 has no microSD support, the screen also is not the best of the bunch, and there is no charger in the box.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra comes with a sleek design, and it offers faster performance, thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chip. Unlike the regular Galaxy S21, you do not have to make as many trade-offs. You get a better main 108MP camera, a glass back, more RAM, and a better display.

The dynamic display on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and sharpest WQHD resolution at the same time. It is also very bright and colorful.

The dual telephoto lenses get you very close to your subject, and the new Zoom Lock feature keeps things steadier with digital Space Zoom. The S Pen support is great, but you will have to purchase the stylus and a case to hold it separately. The battery life can last for 11.5 hours.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is not cheap. Also, you do not get a charger in the box or a microSD card slot.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G has the exact same size as that of the S20+. That means that it is not a small phone, but it is on par with most smartphone flagships on the market.

The phone comes in six colors, including mint, lavender, orange, navy, white, and red. The phone has a flat front and matte metal surfaces. It is also a bit more usable, and you do not have the accidental-touch problem that people usually have with the curved-screen phone.

The matte back also does a much better job at repelling both the fingerprints and the scratches on the phone than the glass back does.

The Galaxy S20 FE also has the same Snapdragon 865 processor as the S20 line does, together with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a microSD card slot.

However, the phone does not have any space zoom, and it does not have a great low-light camera performance.

Samsung Galaxy A51

The Samsung Galaxy A51 has 128GB of internal storage. You can expand it with microSD storage and there is also a headphone jack, which is a great inclusion.

The best part of the Galaxy A51 is the screen itself. It is a well-done 6.5-inch OLED, bright even in the sunlight. At 1080 x 2400, there are more than enough pixels, even at this screen size.

However, the camera is not that good, the battery life is not that long, and it is a bit slow compared to other Samsung devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G has a massive 6.9-inch display with a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate, a 108MP camera with laser autofocus, and a responsive S Pen. The phone also lets you stream Xbox games, and it has very impressive battery life.

The phone has a trio of rear cameras, plus a laser auto-focus sensor. The phablet's camera array starts with a 108MP wide camera with an f/1.8 aperture, and it is paired with a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 120-degree field of view and f/2.2. The 12MP telephoto lens delivers a 5x optical zoom and up to a 50x super-resolution zoom.

However, the phone is a bit expensive, and the camera bump is a bit massive. The curved display is also not comfortable at times.

Whatever you choose, you should get that smartphone with all of the features you are looking for. Thankfully, there are numerous Samsung phones that you can choose from.
