Many would be surprised to learn that the faith-based economy is a very lucrative and profitable industry within the US economy, producing a staggering 1.2 trillion in revenue per year.  With those staggering numbers, that would make the faith-based sector more profitable than both Google and Apple combined.  In a recent article from The London Guardian, the article stated that religion within the United States is worth more than $1.2 trillion per year, making that equivalent to the 15th largest national economy in the world, and studies have shown that would equate to being greater than the combined yearly revenue of the top ten largest tech firms in the America.

With this information, it is understandable why we have seen such an uptick in new faith-based content creators flooding the digital space today. Radikal Hughes, also known as Dan Hughes, is the perfect example of a multi-faceted Christian Influencer in today's faith-based sector that has discovered unique ways to build his brand, build his ministry, and create an impactful movement called Radikal Nation. His movement and ministry called Radikal Nation has been impacting millions of lives throughout the world by leveraging various forms of technology and social media.

Radikal Hughes built his brand by starting off in the Christian Music Industry back in 2009 as a Christian Rapper, Hughes collaborated with some of Christian Music's most renowned artists such as two-time Grammy Award-winning group GRITS, Grammy-nominated artist Da' T.R.U.T.H., and other notable artists such as Christon Gray, Dee-1, Bizzle, and Sevin.  It should be mentioned that Hughes accomplished all of this without the help of a record label, and he did so as an independent recording artist.  Hughes contributes his remarkable amount of success in the music industry not solely to his faith in God but also to his relentless work ethic and his ability to establish and maintain relationships. With the rapper's music having had millions of streams across digital platforms, and with two impactful albums under his belt, music is just one of the many ways that this artist impacts lives, maintains influence, and generates revenue.

Radikal Hughes offered some profound advice in regards to the topic of collaboration by stating the following: "You have to be able to offer people something of value, and not be that person always looking for a handout or a shortcut. If you are not offering value to someone that you wish to collaborate with, then you have absolutely no right to ask for anything from that person in my opinion."

Hughes believes that the key to success as an influencer in the faith-based sector is more about playing to your strengths and pursuing your true passions above anything else.  Hughes is not a believer in being a "jack of all trades" nor is he a believer in creating content just because it's "trending."  He subscribes to the thought that if the reason you are doing what you are doing is due to it "working for someone else"  or because "it's popular," then it will more often than not fail, come off as disingenuous, and do more harm than good to your brand.

Radikal has had overwhelming success leveraging social media in a way that very few have within the faith based market. Spotting trends before they have become mainstream are one of the many secrets that Radikal contributes to his success. Where most people work harder trying to grow their influence on larger saturated social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, Hughes has worked smarter, by incorporating more obscure apps into his social media strategy that have helped to widen his organic reach, thus further growing his influence faster with apps such as TikTok, Clubhouse, and Medium.

One key component of social media that Hughes leverages on a daily basis, is in his ability to broadcast live and have the attention of the entire world within seconds.  Hughes shared this eye opening thought, "I always ask Christians to really ponder this statement that I'm about to make. What would Jesus' ministry and impact on the world look like if he would have had access to the same incredible technology that we have at our fingertips today?" Hughes continued his profound statement, "With your ability to broadcast live and have the entire world hear what you have to say instantaneously is truly unfathomable. Think about it, what if Jesus could have tweeted, blogged, or even had a podcast. I say all this to say this, don't take for granted the miracle of technology that we possess in our lives today."

In closing, we would be remiss to not let Radikal Hughes give a closing statement, in regards to his stance on blending faith with commerce.

"I'm not a big fan of manipulating people with God nor pimping the gospel for personal gain, like unfortunately many pastors and faith based leaders do today. I have no problem with people becoming millionaires or multi-millionaires in the faith based sector as long as it's done in an ethical way. This gospel is not for sale, however I do believe that people deserve to be fairly compensated for their time, giftings, and effort.  If creators are creating authentic and valuable content that enhances the consumers life, then I have no issue with that at all.

At the ripe age of 35, this Recording Artist turned Influencer, known by many as Radikal Hughes, is in the prime season of his life showing zero signs of slowing down. This faith based visionary looks to continue to leverage the latest technology to spread his message of faith, hope and love; and continue to help millions of souls, awaken to the greatness that God has called them to be.
