According to iFireMonkey, a Twitter account that mostly focuses on Fortnite news and leaks, Epic is actually aware of the current mobile issue that is causing some players to experience crashes when they are updating. Players are then reportedly getting a message pinpointing the problem to players not having enough disk space.

There is technically a workaround in order to fix this issue. Although it is an unofficial fix, Epic mobile users might still be able to get Epic to work despite the issue. The quick fix might not work on every player but it could be worth a shot before opting to maybe clear out more disk space or even buy additional disk space.

The twitter thread also mentioned another problem that another user was experiencing. The Twitter account ItsDavid6564 noted that the app was not available for download on the app store. This problem, however, could stem from a very different reason. The main reason for this problem could be that the Epic is not compatible with the device that the user was using.

It's quite unavoidable that every once in a while, glitches do happen. Sometimes it could be the fault of the developers or the people managing the specific application or site while other times, it could be the internet connection. The user's device could also be at fault especially if their phone model is outdated or they do not upgrade their Android or iOS to more current versions.

Why Updating is Important

Updating devices is very important since these updates are oftentimes done in order to add another layer of security or deal with any existing security issues. For those with older devices, the risk of their devices being outdated is very high. Sometimes, phone devices are only built to sustain a number of updates but when the time comes, they will be left with the last version of Android or iOS.

For players that might have not resolved this problem through the restarting and updating the device, it might be better to source other solutions online or contact Epic Games directly regarding the problem through their website. Usually, Epic is still responsive and gives gamers tips on how to fix their problem.

The issue with some gamers when it comes to needing more disk space is that when checking their systems, there is still space available. For these particular problems, it would be better to contact Epic Games themselves and ask them to help resolve the problem at hand.
