AMD has just recently confirmed that it will be turning up the heat with its brand new Ryzen desktop APUs which are set to feature Zen 3 core as well as Vega integrated graphics. It is also expected to have a range of 4 to 8 cores, available with both 35W and 65W TDPs, and can be clocked up to 4.6GHz!

According to the story by TechSpot, AMD also claims that the upcoming Ryzen 5000G APUs will be even faster in comparison to the 10th gen core equivalents. However, the 11th gen Rocket Lake-S are already available and also function with really fast integrated graphics in itself.

The upcoming Ryzen 5000G series will be known by its codename "Cezanne" and will reportedly be divided into athe 65W and the 35W (GE) variantes. The specs are pretty amazing and gamers and powerful-PC-enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the upgraded performance.

Ryzen 5000G vs Intel Core i7-10700

Based on the basic AM4 platform, all of the different Ryzen 5000G processors will support the PCIe 3.0 interface as well as DDR4-3200 memory. The new iGPUs are expected to use the exact same architecture as their previous predecessors. The new 19% generational uplist coming from the new Zen 3 core, however, would bring a significant performance boost in certain selected workloads, especially when it comes to single-threaded tasks.

The upcoming next-gen Ryzen desktop APUs is currently led by the all powerful Ryzen 7 5700G which is on average about 38% faster when it comes to content creation, 80% faster when it comes to computing performance, and 35% faster when it comes to productivity in comparison to even the Intel Core i7-10700, according to AMD as noted by Wcctech.

Better Than the Comet Lake-S i7

When it comes to gaming, the Ryzen 5700G also reportedly outperforms the Intel Core i7-10700 mostly due to its own superior iGPU. On average, it actually offers around 2.17x the total gaming performance of the Comet Lake-S i7 processor.

The AMD Ryzen 5 5600G as well as the Ryzen 3 5300G are both expected to perform very well when it comes to productivity tasks as seen in the reviews made by TechSpot. The two are essentially the same chips themselves but still differ in a few different ways by just a little bit.

With good storages, the new iGPU of the AMD Ryzen 5000G series would also be very welcome for the booming DIY PC market, but quite like the previous G SKUs, they will still only be available just for the OEMs during the start. For those wanting to build their own PC, the chips appearing on the general retail channel might take a while before it is accessible.
