Amazon is set to release a revamped version of the wireless Echo Buds that are lighter, smaller, and feature a redesigned case for wireless charging.
Revamped Amazon Echo Buds
The tech giant unveiled its next-generation Echo Buds on Apr. 13. The wireless earbuds will be available in either black or glacier white, and will cost around $119.99 for a version with wired charging or $139.99 for one with wireless charging.
Both sets of earbuds will go for $99.99 and $199.99, respectively. This will go for a limited time only and it will include 6 months free of Amazon Music Unlimited and Audible Plus, according to The Verge.

The Echo Buds are available to pre-order on Apr. 14 and it will start shipping in May. Tom Taylor, the senior vice president of Amazon Alexa, said that Echo Buds will make it easier for customers to bring Alexa with them throughout their day.
The new Echo Buds are 20% lighter than the previous model, while cases are 40% smaller. They also have a shortened nozzle and built-in vents to make them more comfortable to wear and reduce ear pressure.
The buds will include four ear tip sizes and two wing sizes. The Alexa app features an Ear Tip Fit Test to make sure that the buds fit perfectly, according to CNN.
Amazon Echo Buds features
The Echo Buds is equipped with the new technology for Active Noise Cancellation, which Amazon says cancels twice as much noise as the previous model. There is also a Passthrough mode allowing users to still hear the surroundings while wearing the earbuds.
The Echo Buds support Alexa, featuring microphones for users to make verbal requests. Later this year, the Echo Buds will include a VIP filter to let users choose which notifications they want to hear.
Each Echo Bud has 3 microphones, which is said to help with noise-reduction during calls and a voice pick up when the user is issuing Alexa commands.
These have sidetone features that allow users to hear their voice inside the earbuds as they talk so that they can modulate their voice when on call. This can help prevent users from shouting while they are on a call.
Echo Buds get up to 5 hours of music playback on one charge. The earbuds' case provides up to two additional charges, thus providing a total of 15 hours of playback. Users can also quick charge for just 15 minutes to get an additional 2 hours of playback time.
The 5.7-millimeter drivers are new and Amazon's using a Realtek chipset with Bluetooth 5.0. It says the combination produces better sound with more sparkle to the treble and better bass definition.
The new Echo Buds did retain the fitness-tracking features of the original buds that were added late in 2020, according to CNET.
As far as new features go, there is a Find My Buds option now that helps users locate a lost bud or buds. If the user is within the range of the bud or buds, it will emit a chime.
Currently, multipoint Bluetooth is not supported. That features lets users pair the buds to two devices simultaneously, like a PC and a smartphone.
