Xiaomi is set to launch its Redmi K4 Game Enhanced Edition smartphone this Apr. 27.

In a teaser, the smartphone manufacturer released a GIF image that previews the key features of the upcoming gadget.

Redmi K40 Backgrounder

In February of this year, Redmi announced the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+ smartphones worldwide. The flagship phone was said to feature a 4,520mAh battery and a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate that is said to have an enhanced viewing experience for its users.

Other features include a flat display and a minimal hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera that is just 2mm in size, teasing it to have the record for the smallest camera featured in a phone.

It also has a dual stereo audio output powered by Dolby Atmos surround sound for better experience when watching videos or listening to audio files.

The smartphone's OLED is said to be comparable to Samsung S21 Ultra, featuring "the world's smallest selfie camera," good battery life and dual-stereo speakers.

Reviews of Redmi K40

The poduct reviews are fairly on the good side, as analyzed by Priceboon.

It said that the pro version supports IP68-level dust and water resistance, like the Huawei P40 Pro, Galaxy S20 Ultra, iPhone 11 Pro Max, OPPO Find X2 Pro, Google Pixel 4 XL, and Sony Xperia 1, among others. It enumerated its specs in comparison to what's on the market.

How Does the New 'Game Enhanced' Redmi K40 Differ to the Existing Redmi K40?

GizmoChina revealed that the upcoming Game Enhanced Redmi K40 phone has fitted mechanical shoulder buttons to facilitate a better gaming experience. It also said to feature a vertical triple camera setup with some lighting available at the top-left corner of the device.

Rumors say that Xiaomi devices with model numbers M2102K10C and M2104K10C that were recently approved by the 3C authority of China could be the two variants of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.

The 3C listings reportedly support 5G connectivity, and they come with a 67W fast charger.

The battery life of the new Redmi K40 variant is also said to be bigger with a 5,000mAh capacity. The smartphone is expected to feature the same screen, which can be found on other K40 series devices.

While the initially-launched K40 series phones support a 120HZ refresh rate, the K40 Game Enhanced Edition is expected to offer a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. It will be driven by the Dimensity 1200 chipset. It will also have a 128GB to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage space.

Other specifications of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition are not disclosed yet.

When it comes to its price, sources said that it is likely going to cost around 2,000 Yuan or $308. The K40 Game Enhanced Edition is also expected to arrive in India soon. However, the Indian version is rumored to carry a POCO branding, and has the possibility of being an F-series smartphone.
