Google Earth Day 2021 Doodle sends an important message to all people around the globe. Due to the increasing pollution and deterioration of the environment, individuals need to be more aware of what is happening around them.

For this year, the event will focus on the theme entitled "Restore Our Earth." Indeed, the ecosystem should be healed once again even in the middle of technological intervention and an endless series of innovations.

CNET reported on Thursday, Apr. 22 that the California-based company has uploaded a new Doodle video for the Earth Day celebration. What the video wants to inform is simple: plant more trees to make the planet healthy and alive.

Google aims to tell all people that helping does not require big things. As the video suggested, returning the favor to nature could start in a single sapling.

Trees are a huge help in combating the ever-growing global climate change. By absorbing the carbon dioxide through their bark and leaves, trees could hinder the progress of the phenomena.

Additionally, it could also give us an improved quality of the air. Since carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas, it contributes to the greenhouse effect wherein more thermal energy is clogged in the atmosphere which results in the unusual warming of the earth.

Specifically, the Earth Day 2021 Doodle toured us to a wide range of trees which could be useful in slowing down climate change.

In 2019, a study entitled "The global tree restoration potential" published in Science concluded that about 205 gigatons of carbon could be captured through planting over half a trillion trees.

This action could contribute to a 25% reduction of carbon in the air. This will also negate the huge emissions that have impacted humans since 1960.

For those who want to take part in this annual celebration, Earthday.org is launching a live stream this Thursday which will help people to be more mindful of the environment. In connection to the 2021 theme, there will be a series of workshops and discussions, as well as special numbers for the audience.

The live stream will begin at 9 am PT and you can have the chance to listen to the most prominent nature activists, artists, industry heads, and other persons who will take part in the program.

Google to be Carbon-Free by 2030

ZDNet reported that five Google data centers are currently aiming to be carbon-free by 2030. Using only electricity, it seems that the company is headed to the "Green '' thinking that it wants to achieve.

Google's senior VP of Cloud Infrastructure, Urs Hölzle, stated that their company is now running over 50 projects which are all using renewable energy. This also translates to an approximate number of one million solar rooftops which could hold 5.5 gigawatts of electricity.

In conjunction with Earth Day, Google wants to awaken the public about the persisting problems in nature.

Since data centers are one of the contributors to CO2 emissions, the companies have been exploring ways on how to incorporate technology into the environment, while delivering less harm to the latter.

For Sundar Pichai, the tech giant's CEO, they are now ready to be completely carbon-free by 2030.
