Security researchers claimed that Signal was able to prevent Cellebrite, a tech giant company well-known for providing high-end software and hardware designed to allow users to break into smartphones. Furthermore, Cellebrite's technology also extracts data from various mobile devices.

According to Phone Arena's latest report, Signal was discovered to prevent Cellebrite's Physical Analyzer software, which is described as "the industry standard for digital data examination."

Thanks to this security activity, Signal was able to find some security vulnerabilities. The popular application was able to exploit one of them to allow any iPhone to corrupt the data on any machine using Cellebrite's technology.
Some non-Signal iPhone users are already installing it
As of the moment, some iPhone users are already installing Signal--even those who are using other messaging applications. On the other hand, Signal announced its latest security activity so that iPhone owners know why they should install the application.
"In completely unrelated news, upcoming versions of Signal will be periodically fetching files to place in-app storage," said the messaging app company.
"These files are never used for anything inside Signal and never interact with Signal software or data, but they look nice, and aesthetics are important in software," added Signal.
