A Reddit user claims that AirTags have a hidden debug mode in iOS 14.5, which users can access via their iPhone's Find My App. The anonymous Apple user posted his discovery on May 5.

"My experience of AirTags thus far has been underwhelming - the first one out of the box failed to pair four times in a row when it was sitting on top of the phone," said Alex Magri-Olson.
"Now that it is finally connected, anything outside of 0.8m/2.6ft away shows as a weak signal and when I can get a signal, there is never an arrow," added the Reddit user.
Magri-Olson said that he discovered this secret feature by tapping on the name of his AirTag name four times. After doing this, his iPhone suddenly revealed the debug menu.

How AirTag's Hidden Debug Mode Works?
According to The Apple Post's latest report, the newly discovered secret feature of AirTags in iOS 14.5 shows how far the user's device is away from the detected AirTag.

For the past few years, various debug screens have already been stuck in different devices. These include the special keypad sequence. This allows you to type into your iOS smartphone's app to activate the hidden Field Test Mode app.
How to Use AirTag's Hidden Debug Mode?
If you want to use the new AirTag debug mode feature, the first thing you need to do is get within the UWB range of your gadget. After that, you must activate the Precision Finding Experience option.
Once you are done with this, you can now tap four times on the heading label, which shows your AirTag's name. However, you need to be careful when doing this since it is hard to reset the debug menu after it is activated.
