While the stocks have been short on supply due to the chip supply problem, scalpers also added to the crisis as they sweep out the inventory in every restocks.

GamingIntel reported that PS5 restock may be happening to these Target, Amzon and Walmart soon or, better, this week. On the other hand, Best Buy, PlayStation Direct, and GameStop already replenished their inventory, according to CNET.
If you're one of them, this time around, the news may sound better to your ears. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan assured people that they are exerting effort to allow everyone to get the latest Playstation.
"We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period," Ryan told Wired.

PlayStation Direct: Restocks are repeatedly recurring in this retailer. People queue up and start buying their consoles in the afternoon. Joining the queue even if stocks don't reach you is not a useless move. The good news is that Sony prioritizes those who patiently waited. In some lucky instances, these people will receive an email directly from Sony, CNET reported.
The content of the email, however, is not yet disclosed by the company to the public. Whatever it may be, the email may give an advantage to those trying to get their hands on the PS5. Take note that a PS Plus subscription is required to get the PS Direct email. The said email priority update is a significant help as other retailers refrain from giving official notice for their restock.
Use multiple devices: As the PS5 inventory drops, use as many devices or browsers as your hands could manage. You have a better chance of slipping through the crowd in this strategy.
Prime your retail accounts: Make sure that you've set up your accounts from all PS5 retailers that you may know of. It will help to avoid any delays during your checkout.
