500K 'Call of Duty: Warzone' Cheaters Banned But Gamers Say Their Accounts were Hacked

"COD Warzone" has just met another problem regarding cheaters in the "Call of Duty" servers which has then led to the suspension and ban of any "Call of Duty" Activision account caught causing "Warzone" issues by cheating. With "COD" servers being wide in numbers, it could be hard to pinpoint which accounts were intentionally cheating and which accounts were just victims.

'Call of Duty' Cheaters

Raven Software has just recently confirmed that there are well over half a million players that have had their "Call of Duty" Activision account banned from "Call of Duty: Warzone" for cheating ever since the game had launched back in 2020. The developer reportedly revealed the number last May 15 when it officially announced a ban wave that had 30,000 accounts permanently banned from "COD" servers.

Both Raven Software and Activision have reportedly been rolling out permanent ban waves for the game "COD Warzone" ever since April, only two months after the game had officially launched. The bans are made to target accounts that partake in certain "malicious" behaviour. This includes cheating as well as the use of illegal hacks.

Gamers Report Hacked Accounts

According to the story by NME, following the recent announcement by Raven Software, a number of gamers have stated that their accounts were reportedly hacked into and that they were wrongfully banned. One user even said that his "Call of Duty" activision account was hacked which caused the ban.

Another Twitter user noted that the truth is, certain gamers' accounts got stolen and cheaters were using those accounts. The user stated that they are aware of this issue due to their account being stolen as well. The hacker reportedly dropped 5 wins in a row and all of them had 30 kills.

'COD' Servers Issue

The user then stated that getting those users' accounts banned is actually doing nothing but just deleting the accounts of honest people. Both Activision and Raven Software have not yet given any comments regarding the rise of reportedly hacked accounts which is now a major "Warzone" issue.

As of the moment, "COD" servers are still going on and although there might be certain issues like "COD" servers down, players are still dealing with hacker issues as well. As of the moment, the number of hackers has not yet been specifically noted and the number is anyone's guess.

'Call of Duty: Warzone' Franchise

One thing for sure, however, is that the game does have a lot of players both new and already existing "Call of Duty" fans that have followed the game's franchise since the earlier days. "Call of Duty: Warzone" has reportedly been quite a successful title for the game's franchise and has even seen an increasing number of streamers all sharing with the world their gameplay.

As of the moment, there is no information as to what will happen to the reportedly hacked "Call of Duty" Activision account of users that were suspended.
