Advancing Security for the Community

"Trend Micro was one of the companies that answered our call to the community when we began developing ATT&CK for Containers through the Center for Threat-Informed Defense," said MITRE lead cybersecurity engineer Jen Burns. She adds that together, they are working to help companies remain protected against cyberattacks through the use of knowledge bases such as ATT&CK.

"Contributors like Trend Micro, with expertise and experience with real-world attacks, help us support the security community in reaching that goal," Burns added.

Among the contributions made by Trend Micro includes providing evidence from real-world cyberattacks to support seven MITRE Techniques, with two of these methods being new and unique to ATT&CK for Containers. Businesses can use the MITRE Techniques to have a clearer picture of how cyberattacks work in container environments and how to protect their systems from these threats.

"It has been a privilege to support MITRE through the development of their new container framework," shares Trend Micro product marketing VP Wendy Moore. She notes that the company's extensive research community is always "focused on helping protect our customers and the broader digital world" from threats. Trend Micro identified containers as a growing opportunity for cyberattacks and has initiated efforts to remain one step ahead.

Trend Micro Cloud One - Container Security

With Trend Micro Cloud One - Container Security, businesses tap into the tech leader's expertise, resources, and deep researches. The new tool is intended to make security easier for container builds, deployments, and runtime workflows while also helping developers speed up innovation and minimize downtime across their container environments.

The Container Security allows enterprises to stay protected at an earlier stage of their development pipeline, with its ability to scan images as they are being built and continues to provide continuous protection after publishing. Its automated scanning and response instantly send feedback to the developers regarding vulnerabilities and threats.

Additionally, with the Trend Micro platform, centralized container admission control can become a part of an organization's container security enforcement. Through its policy-based image management, Container Security lets teams select and define rules for how deployment of containers proceed.
