SpaceX decided to collaborate with SpaceChain, a company that focuses on building an open and neutral infrastructure for the new space economy.

SpaceChain explained that it plans to achieve this by integrating combining blockchain innovations and other space technologies.

And now, Elon Musk confirmed that his SpaceX will bring the first-ever Ethereum (ETH) node to the International Space Station (ISS).

The giant space company announced that it will bring SpaceChain's ETH node to outer space in the first week of June.

"The nodes will be installed on a YAM-2 satellite carried by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket under the rideshare program. The mission will be operated by Loft Orbital," said SpaceChain.

To give you more ideas, here are the exact plans of SpaceX and SpaceChain.

SpaceX to Bring First ETH Node to Outerspace

According to TweakTown's latest report, Elon Musk explained that SpaceX will bring the first ETH node to ISS using its Falcon 9 rocket. Once SpaceX's aircraft launches, it will mark SpaceChain's fourth blockchain payload to enter space.

On the other hand, this will also be the first demonstration of Ethereum's integration into its hardware on the International Space Station. Aside from this, SpaceX and SpaceChain will also be joined by Nexus Incorporated.

This client of SpaceChain is responsible for providing an ISS installation solution for the first ETH node. Meanwhile, Elon Musk's space company and SpaceChain also explained how they plan to keep the upcoming ETH node safe.

How Will SpaceX and SpaceChain Keep ETH Node Safe?

SpaceChain explained that once the first ETH node is successfully installed in the International Space Station, it will release some security installations that will keep the new ETH node's network safe in outer space.

Aside from the first Ethereum node, Explica previously reported that SpaceChain also plans to put several Bitcoin nodes into orbit. The company confirmed that it will begin its mission this coming June 14.

SpaceChain explained that this innovation will allow people to use BTC and ETH blockchains for their portfolio of services. These include data security products, asset custody, and more.
