AMD just rocked the PC gaming world with its official announcement of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and now they're looking to gamers for recommendations.

Such recommendations involve which games fans would like to get patched with FSR support, as reported by PCGamer. AMD is currently holding an official poll on their website, asking users to register their names, GPU models, and basically "wishlist-bomb" Team Red and the team behind FidelityFX.

BEIJING, CHINA - DECEMBER 06: The headquarters of Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) is pictured on December 6, 2020 in Beijing, China.

AMD announced FSR at Computex 2021 to a raving internet crowd, and rightfully so. However, because compared to its direct competitor in NVIDIA DLSS, FidelityFX is not exclusive to modern Radeon graphics cards. Heck, among the two early demos for this tech showcased it running on a GTX 1060.

And here's something even more amazing: 1060 was running "Godfall", a notoriously demanding game, with playable frame rates at max settings, 1440p, with FSR turned on. If you own both "Godfall" and a GTX 1060, you, of all people, should know that the mid-range Pascal card can't even run the game smoothly at 1080p, let alone QHD. And that's where the "magic" of AMD FidelityFX comes in.

Just like DLSS, FidelityFX Super Resolution renders any game at a lower resolution then upscales it to meet a native display's size, say from 1080p to 4K, all with barely any noticeable performance and quality degradation. With that, gamers can run their favorite titles on near max visual settings, even with ray tracing on, at very smooth frame rates.

AMD Fidelity FX Official Support List?

While this is by no means an actual announcement of games that officially support FSR, this YouTube video on the official AMD channel shows a handful of titles that are the most likely to get support within the year. Here are some of the most notable:

  • Dirt 5
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Resident Evil Village
  • Godfall
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Far Cry 6
  • Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order

There are surely even more games in the pipeline, but these are the biggest titles that stand out.

FSR for the Most Demanding Titles of the Generation

Here's the thing, though. Those who definitely deserve the supercharged performance delivered by AMD FidelityFX should be the most demanding games of this console generation, and there are a few that come to mind.

Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games' latest magnum opus, surely gets a front-row seat, right? Red Dead 2 can look almost photorealistic on a PC with capable hardware with maxed-out graphics settings, and some extra mods/reshades slapped onto it. Check out this YouTube video to see and believe. NVIDIA is already poised to bring DLSS to this game, but if AMD gets there first, then Team Green is going to have to make a run for its money.

Cyberpunk 2077, despite its somewhat troubled existence so far, might also get a new lease on life with AMD FidelityFX. People can say what they want about how buggy and unfinished this game might be, but CDPR sure made it look really pretty. In fact, it still looks good even at low settings. With FSR, players will no longer need to buy an uber-expensive modern graphics card to enjoy seeing this game's visuals cranked up to the max.

Do you have a game that you'd love to have FSR support patched in? Then, let AMD know by registering on their website!
