Daniel Ives, a Wedbush analyst, is foreseeing that two new MacBook Pros with a redesign are coming, alongside the updated macOS, tvOS, iOS, iPadOS, and watchOS.

He told investors of the iPhone maker that an M1 Apple silicon chip will power these MacBook Pros. However, MacRumors suggested otherwise, and instead, it is likely have a more powerful M2 inside it.

MacBook Pro WWDC Announcement

Aside from Ives, another Apple leaker, Jon Prosser, is also echoing that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will officially be unveiled to the public on WWDC, MacRumors said in a separate report.

On the other hand, Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg journalist, did not state a specific date. Gurman instead said that fans could expect Apple to announce the MacBook redesign "as soon as early this summer." Yet, the publication noted that the actual release is in 2022 due to manufacturing issues.

SAN ANSELMO, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 27: In this photo illustration, the MacBook Pro logo is displayed on an Apple MacBook Pro laptop on June 27, 2019 in San Anselmo, California. Apple announced a recall of an estimated 432,000 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops due to concerns of overheating batteries that could catch fire. MacBook Pro Redesign: What To Expect?

Prosser is saying that the latest MacBook lineup is getting its most significant redesign since 2016. In addition, Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst and leaker, claimed many features from the past versions of the device are making their comeback.

Touch Bar Delete

Gurman first released on Bloomberg a leak of the redesign that removed the annoying feature of the MacBook Pro. The OLED touch strip on its keyboard and the accidental commands it creates will soon be gone.

SD Card Reader and HDMI Port

Apple will be bringing back the ports they removed in 2016, rumors suggest.

Professionals using MacBooks have been struggling to connect their SD cards since the reader was officially removed from it. Alongside the farewell of SD card readers, the HDMI port has also bid goodbye.

However, rumors suggest that the two are coming back on the newest redesign. But it was not mentioned if the MacBook is getting the HDMI 2.1, which allows up to 120Hz refresh rate.

MagSafe

Since 2016 also, the MagSafe port has been replaced by a USB Type C connector -- that fans are not asking for. However, it is expected that Apple will be calling the charging tech with another name.
