Facebook is letting creators have more control over how their images get used. As a result, creators will have a better idea of how those images are being used legitimately or illegally.

Facebook's Protection Insights

The social network is launching an Insights tab in the Rights Manager section. It includes statistics for matched images and details on how well the images are performing. It also shows likes and comments and the demographics of the viewers.

However, the new Facebook feature will also include Protection Insights, showing how often images are blocked and restricted. Users will have an insight of often copyright issues result to takedowns, according to Engadget.

The Rights Manager was focus on video when it was first introduced. It lets owners earn money on claimed footage and link the viewers to the owner's Page or their original work.

The additions should be helpful if you are an artist or photographer that is eager to gauge the popularity of your work and ensure that it is shared in ways that you approve.

At the same time, it might also begin takedowns that may seem extreme. This is true, especially for Instagram users who share the same image or spread photo-based memes.

Facebook's New Tools

On June 2, Facebook announced numerous new developer tools, including several messaging features for businesses, at its virtual F8 software developer conference, according to CNBC.

The F8 software event marked Facebook's first-ever software developer conference since 2019. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the company to cancel the event in 2020.

Now, Facebook focused on new features to help businesses on their platform communicate with their consumers directly through its messaging services.

This is the main focus for the social media giant, which is now seeking to enable more e-commerce transactions directly on its services and enable businesses to handle more of their customer support through their platforms such as Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

One of the biggest new features to be introduced is the Messenger API for Instagram. Facebook had announced that all businesses will now have access to the application program interface, also known as API, for messaging on Instagram.

This will make it a lot easier for businesses to automate and manage direct message communication with users. For example, companies could create automatic responses or workflows for consumer questions or requests before a chat with a live representative starts.

These types of tools exist for businesses to message people through WhatsApp or Messenger, but now, they will also be able to build the same messaging experiences on Instagram.

Also, there are WhatsApp improvements for business communication. Facebook also announced several new tools and features for WhatsApp, according to TechCrunch.

These tools include list messages to help businesses give their consumers a choice of what platform they can use to communicate.

Facebook also launched Reply buttons. This allows users to choose prewritten responses to talk to businesses.

The company also announced faster onboarding for its WhatsApp Business API so businesses can get set up to start messaging with the consumer in minutes. The process used to take weeks before it gets completed.

Facebook has also launched the multi-person augmented reality feature as part of its effort to enable more augmented-reality options for users. This new technology will make it possible for software developers to create AR effects that work for multiple users.
