Apple Inc. is a well-known business tycoon in the tech industry, and one of its most popular products is the iPad.

A new iPad Pro is now in the works together with its little sister, the iPad Mini. The tech giant seems to rejuvenate the overall designs and features of the two devices, seeking a continued momentum for their sales amidst the pandemic.

According to Bloomberg, This Cupertino, California-based corporation has set its goals for the next two years. iPad Pro will launch in 2022, while the iPad Mini will hit the market in the latter part of 2021.

New Apple iPad Pro and iPad Mini: Design

Apple is now working on various tests for the new design of the iPad Pro. The device could have a glass back instead of the current aluminum body that the current iPad Pro has. The switch to a glass back will enable wireless charging for the iPad Pro, a first-time feature in Apple's tablets.

Because of the glass back, the iPad Pro will resemble iPhones closely, as Apple has also transitioned their phones from aluminum to glass backs over the last years.

On the other hand, the latest iPad Mini might have thinner screen borders, which will enhance the user experience. The removal of the iPad Mini's home button is also one of the changes that Apple has been testing for quite some time.

Over the last few years, the iPad installment became an essential aspect of Apple's continuous growth. People looked for new ways to study, work, be entertained, and be informed over the COVID-19 lockdowns. iPad sales spiked by 43% during the last half of 2020 compared to Apple's 2019 statistics.

This massive gain went on for another three months into 2021 when tablets garnered an enormous increase of 79% -- $7.8 billion more than their earnings from 2020's first quarter.

Apple iPad Pro: Wireless Charging

The iPads that everyone knows and loves are still charging using USB-C or Lightning, which could be inconvenient for users, but MacRumors stated that Apple is working on the latest iPad Pro, and that there is a chance that the new device will have wireless charging and reverse wireless charging feature, which will make iPads more compact and functional.

However, Bloomberg reported that Apple's plans for the new iPad Pro are still young -- meaning they could be changed or canceled within the year.

Current wireless chargers are only compatible with the iPhone, so an iPad Pro with a wireless charging feature will require a new, specialized charging option. On this note, MacRumors said that Apple might utilize MagSafe for the new device as well.

The tech giant is also developing a reverse wireless charging option for the brand new iPad Pro, allowing users to charge their Apple devices (Airpods, iPhones, etc.) by simply placing them on the back of the iPad Pro. However, users must keep in mind that all of these might not occur, as Apple is known for surprising everyone with their new launches.
