Nintendo is one of the most anticipated exhibitors for this year's E3, but the big game (and hopefully new hardware) announcements aren't the only ones they're going to bring.

Nintendo just announced a massive summer sale, called Nintendo Switch Digital Deals, going live at the tail end of E3 on June 15. It will start at 10:00 A.M. PT/1:00 P.M. ET, according to a report by GameSpot, and will feature particularly excellent discounts on a lot of their best games.

The announcement was made on the official Nintendo of America Twitter account, where they tweeted that fans can expect deals of up to 50% off on hundreds of games on the Nintendo store:

It's worth noting that Nintendo doesn't tend to announce sale events ahead of time. So for them to be doing this might mean that several of the biggest games on the Switch will see MASSIVE discounts. And there are quite a lot of them, too. This includes such as "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze," "New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe," and "Mario Tennis Aces," all of which went on sale for $42 a pop in last year's event.

This sale also coincides with Nintendo's much-anticipated E3 showcase called Nintendo Direct, which starts on the same day at 9:00 A.M. PST/12:00 A.M. EST, as announced on the official Nintendo website. Millions of fans will be expecting the video game giant to steal the entire show with exciting game reveals, including the much rumored-about Switch Pro.

Nintendo at E3 2021: Insane Levels of Hype

Switch Digital Deals isn't the only time that Nintendo announced a big sale that runs alongside E3 festivities. Back in 2018, there was also a sale like this one, which offered discounts up to 50% off Switch and 3DS titles. That sale, however, was largely considered by fans as the only good thing since their E3 2018 presentation was classified as "underwhelming.

For E3 2021, however, fans are gearing for gargantuan-size news from the Japanese video game giant. Given that the company held off on announcing their official schedule until the last minute, fans are frothing at the mouth for announcements regarding Nintendo's biggest projects in the pipeline.

Of course, who would forget the Switch Pro? The upgraded version of the massively popular handheld has been endlessly rumored to release. If you look closer, a plethora of big Switch games going on sale seems like the perfect complement to the announcement of a Pro Model, which is likely going to break the internet if proven true.

As for the games, there is sure to be news on a lot of upcoming titles on Nintendo's pipeline. But everybody will be rooting for more details on "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2." First teased back in 2019, there's barely any news of this game since.

If Nintendo truly wants to upend every other competitor during the show, then they'll have to bring out the BIG guns.
