Top Shelf Specs

TechRadar recently reviewed both phones that offer the best of the best that is currently on offer.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra came out at the start of the year on January 29, while the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was launched on April 2 of the same year. The processors of each smartphone vary as Samsung has decided to go with two types, namely Qualcomm and Exynos; while Xiaomi stuck with Snapdragon all throughout.

The Snapdragon is slightly faster than the Exynos, while Qualcomm holds supreme.

So, in terms of processing power, Samsung still stays ahead by a narrow margin. Snapdragon processors tend to overheat at longer amounts of time compared to the other two, whilst Samsung processors can perform better with heavier tasks.

Advantages of Galaxy S21 Ultra, Mi 11 Ultra

Let's start with the contender, Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra; it boasts 12 GB of RAM, and as for the camera it has 48MP and has 5x periscope lens. The device brings in much more light than its Samsung rival.

Battery life can run for the entire day with over 10% to 20% left before you need to charge.

Xiaomi came with its own 67W charger as compared to Samsung not having the same chance for their users, and expect that you buy your own. The 67W charger can charge the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra from 0 to 100 in less than an hour, as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra supporting only up to 25W with an hour of charging time.

Now, let's talk about the display of each "Ultra" phone.

Xiaomi impressively competed with Samsung on this end with having a 6.81-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display having a resolution of 1440 x 3200. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that also can reach 120 Hz and Quad HD resolution if needed.

Samsung, however, wins this round with the ability to give a little bit more kick in colors and give a deeper black. Samsung also created the displays used by Xiaomi.

What Should You Get

Both phones are undoubtedly amazing, and they have their own perks and features.

However, it may also depend on what region you are in since variants vary, and you may not even get what you want. Specifically, Xiaomi isn't offered in the US region but you can still get the phone via other means.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra are both beautifully designed, and it will come down to what you can get since both phones are pricey. It comes down to the preference of the user, with more and more people taking notice of Xiaomi given its competitive price and top-shelf specs to even challenge the giant that is Samsung.
